surya can never be a mass hero coz a mass hero has a particular charm which attracts people to watch his movies continously. earlier it was rajni, now its vijay. surya except having good looks, has nothing to show off. he neither has good voice nor good dancing skills. he can't do good comedy. see his earlier movies, with his mustache, he looked clumsy. his dialog delivery is horrible, can't even speak proper tamil. what diff roles has he done so far? except perazhagan, every other role could be done by even jithan ramesh with proper approach. so nothing extraordinary with surya's career so far.ask ur surya to give a blockbuster like ghilli

hey man, theatre owners planning to ban all vijay's films becauses of the losses incurred due to utter flop of visay's 50th landmark film SURA. they say that from aadhi all his films flopped except for pokiri and starting from alagiya tamil magan all his films flopped. contionous 5 flops. Ur saying that he is paisa vasool. once he was, but ppl r bored of his masala films so he needs to do some realistic films different makeovers getups etc. Imagine if he does this was it easy for us to see that?.

A mass hero who hasnt been able to deliver a decent hit in the name of a movie. Yh sure some people might like trash like Vettaikaran, but that doesnt mean its a good film. So far, of all films i've seen this year, the only 2 films which had the most irritating villains were Aasal and Vettaikaran. Aasal had Pradeep Singh who did a fantastic job in Ghajini, but totally forgot the notion of acting in Aasal. In Vettaikaran, the villain did nothing but to look ugly and kept screaming 'VAAADAAA VAADAA'.

Surya has not joined police force. it is just a movie. Moreover, this movie doesn't project him as a short guy. Movies are not about the real facts but about the visuals on the screen.
i don't know about you but i have seen impossible things in movies, and a midget making it to police force is certainly not impossible.

acting? and surya? acting and surya are like north and south pole. Aamir khan was interested in doing ghajini not because of surya's portrayal, but he thought the story had lot of substance and he could add to his cup of triumphs. Moreover he was impressed by Asin's portrayal whose role was the one which made audience love the movie along with the songs in tamil. Eyes to be checked? for what? probably it is u who is suffering form ur surya myopia who needs it urgently than me. Surya is doing what Vijay did in late 90s. He became a household name after doing romantic movies and then, a superstar doing mass movies. This guy Surya did few romantic movies initially and has now shifted to do mass movies(crap). Kamal, aamir khan and Vikram are 5'6" Rjini is much taller, he is nearly 5'9", so is SRK Tom cruise is 5'7" or 5'8" Surya is around 5'5", same height as that of Sachin Tendulkar, (the God.)
Yeah, having a 5'4" - 5'5" guy playing a cop, is ridiculous, since the minimum qualifications in the police/armed forces/ navy selection is a height of 165 cms. (Exceptions: Gorkhas and soldiers from north east, especially naga regiment and assam rifles). Maybe, Surya should flatten his nose and try his luck there :)

If you go and watch the video of Surya's wedding, you can see when Kamal comes next to him, they are practically the same height. Same with Vikram and Surya. These 2 are the same height as well. Aamir Khan is shorter than Surya, have you not seen the launch of the Hindi Ghajni??
And i dont want to argue about celebrities height. But i do want to say one thing. Th guy, Kalyan, who said Surya playing a cop is ridiculous, let me ask you, what was KAAKHA KAAKHA?? Kaakha Kaakha is the best Police film that has come out of not just TN, but of India. Yh, credits go to Gowtham for making a sleek and stylish cop story (which was more romance in my opinion). But Surya, Jyothika and Jeevan really lived as their characters of Anbuselvan, Maya and Pandiya. I mean, why else are they remaking it in so many languages. First Telugu, now Kannada and Hindi.

U stupid, What happened to SURA (50th movie for vijay ha ha ha). It bombed at the box office, eventhough aggressive promotion from the giants, the sun pictures. but what happened? they themselves threw sura out and brought singam in atleast to recover the losses from sura. Indirectly suriya helps sun pictures for the mistake they did. Insiders say that they might have released singam instead of sura. U cant deny this. U dont have any rights to say abt ajith. Vijay's landmark movie bombed, and now ajith became cautious and signed gautham for his 50th film who is indeed a minimum guarantee director with A R Rahman doing music. A landmark movie should be like this and not like sura, which was started very quickly and gone very quickly.

Dear Sura, Sura is the worst film that has come out of Tamil Nadu this decade, so stop talking crap. Aadhavan was the third highest grosser of 2009. VA was not a BO disaster, it did exceptionally well in A Centres, as well as that, it got a NATIONAL AWARD FOR BEST REGIONAL FILM - TAMIL. Ayan collection surpassed Pokkiri collections, making it the third highest grossing film from Tamil Nadu after Dasavathaaram and Sivaji. national awards has lost credibility these days coz people like SAK and Arjun rampal have won it without doing even an ordinary stuff. So VA winning it doesn't make it a classic or render it as a hit. It ran for just a single week, mainly for GM and music and for the curiosity attached with every GM movie. Aadhavan was a big flop but was shown as a hit to elevate Surya as a saleable hero. Sharath saxena, key person from Sun pictures said that vettaikaran surpassed Ayan collections during singam audio launch function. Sura had a good storyline but the director's inexperience led to errors. The problems created are by vested interests who can't stand vijay's meteoric rise in movies and mass appeal amongst the general public in TN.

Ayan ran in chennai for more than 14 weeks, and grossed more than rs 7.39 Cr in Chennai alone. Vettaikaran ran for just above 6 weeks in chennai, and has grossed Rs 4.37 Cr in chennai alone. Aadhavan managed to stay in the top 5 films of chennai for around 8 weeks, and in that 8 weeks, it grossed rs 4.86 Cr. Now stop talking crap. Aadhavan also made more profits than Vettaikaran. Aadhavan profits was around Rs 6 Cr, whereas Vettaikaran profits was around Rs. 1.86 Cr.

Complete action and had traces of Saamy....Looked like a remake of Saamy with Suriya and Anushka in the leads:) But the film never lets you down and has complete masala and entertainment...As usual Anushka is stunning and beautiful in each frame....Surya do yell in many shots with punch dialogues but he carried the character really well.. Director Hari has kept his name of giving an entertainer and NO FLOP SHOWS...Can watch once...

I watched it first day first show....Movie is a complete masala...You can watch in theatre once...But vivek lets down completely, his performance was better in Saamy....Comedy track seemed like a loose end.... Surya and Anushka chemistry didnt jell that well becoz most of the times they were standing far away from each other....Director and cinematographer spent enough time in adjusting both their heights.... There is always a 3 ft distance between them in close dance sequences....Anushka was way too tall for surya :)
