by murali raju on Dec 14, 2010 12:13 AM

First things First: ABHISHEK's acting is superb.all the way it was surya sen depicting the story. It was like surya sen was abhishek .
Great job.,abhi.Keep It UP.
If any body cant agree with this, just stop watching movies.Instead watch saas- bahu serials.

SRK chamcha!
by soloman williams on Dec 08, 2010 08:00 PM

This guy can only appreciate loud roles by Srk, abhishek has done full justice to the role.He was not playing a loud super Hero character,he did beautifully what he was told to do.and this movie gives us an opportunity to feel proud, at least remembering the past, as there is nothing much in the current times! even the raja of 176 lacs crores may feel bad having similar names as this guy!

the movie is not great
by AMOL PATIL on Dec 07, 2010 01:18 PM  | Hide replies

i have read the book do or die & also watched the movie khjjns with all due respect, ashu has failed to create an impact or connect on screen as the book made while i read it so this talk tht it is unpatriotic to not to watch this movie is ridiculous.the first half of makes u go to sleep the second half is thumping u dont feel that connect tht i felt while reading the book or even reading abou masterda on wiki.sorjya sen was a leader an inspiring figure the movie fails to show it,abhishek was a wrong choice.movies like the legend of bhagat singh brilliantly shows the pain & suffering freedom fighters endured for azaadi u feel tht while watching it,khjjns shows it but fails to evoke emotions.

Next time you can read the book "Do And Die" and then watch the movie. Might make sense.

Powerful Statement!!
by parag amodkar on Dec 07, 2010 09:19 AM  | Hide replies

A film by definition for Indians has been entertainment...so KHJJS is never going to be appealing. What appeals us is a Shiela doing some pole dancing or some KJo gay jokes. What we Indians have missed BIGTIME is the fact that this audio visual medium has power to ignite minds..send a message..or make a strong statement. It is pathetic that we rate such movies using box office collections.
One should take his/her kids to see his movie just to show them how India is made. How much territorial loss we have incurred under the british. How we have been exploited.
But snce there is no farah khan stupidity or any cleavage showing number its not a good movie.
Sad state that people walk out before the last respects at the end of the movie..where one can see the actual pictures of the Heroes of this uprising. and only few stay back to see that there one Hero still living in Chittagong!!
Salute to these Heroes! Least we could do s "rate" this effort by Mr. Gowarikar.its sad!

All your points are valid. The only problem is, like you rightly point out, is that box office collection is driven by lower class people. That's the reality.

Not that your poor linguistic skills warrant a reply, but I would oblige. People with zero patriotism only would find a patriotic film a terrorist one. So, the question is - what do we call people with zero patriotism?

Must See Film to Know How hard Earned Our Freedom Is
by Swarup Roy on Dec 06, 2010 03:41 PM  | Hide replies

Hi!Instead of criticising the film and its makers let us see it based on the actual story of the Book Do Or Die by Mannini Chatterjee. This is the real story of Masterda Surya Sen and one should not be critical about it.Every ounce of the story is true and acting inspiring. It should put us in shame if we do not do justice to the film by watching it.The director, the cast and every body who even have a skighest role to play or be a part of the film deserves praise for bringing back the memories of the forgotten hero Masterda whom atleast each and every Bengali will remember if not the entire Indains.

it doesn't matter if a movie is loyal to the book it is based on. what matters is whether d movie by itself is good or not.

It does not matter either if one's name is copied from (once) a leading actress of Bollywood. What matters is whether the person herself is beautiful or not.
