No words about Re recording and Songs. How can a film reviwer miss this that when Ilaayaraja scored it. I hope by now many are accepted very well by Public.
Pazhassi raja is indeed a film into the history of malayalam film..but need to point out some factors after all plus points have been discussed everywhr:
* Did Mammooty's young-look did justice to the role of a senior King? * MT didn't have much to write...this film was a director's film..more space was for visuals..expected more MT- stylised dialogues.. * Mammooty's role could have more energy...instead of showing heroism in the climax.. attacking single-handed... thats not history... its for the fans.. * Locations helped a lot...but technically it stands next to Kaalapaani... * Many scenes were inspired/copied from Hollywood movies * Wars could have been more realistic
But indeed a great film...great effort from a non-youngsters team !!

* MT and hariharan said himself that they can't even imagine another actor in that role. Hey, he wasnt having young-look and all. He appeared like the most matured in the lot.
* This point I agree and in my review I said about the less amount of dialogues myself. But in one recent interview with MT he said that he had to compress his original script to 60%, since his original script almost consisted 6 hours.
* Yes, the climax didnt go in tandem with the movie. That was totally uncalled for. I would have preferred "The Last Samurai" style and/or as in history he should have comitted suicide.
* I would say pazhassi was better in locations and also they tried to take it in places where it actually happened. Thats a plus point for them.
* We can't say copied. Because hollywood/french/japanesse films have covered almost every nook and corner of fights. Can say inspired but not copied. Its very difficult to even take it that level.
* The panamaram fort war was much realistic and in standard it was able to be in par with war films that used to come out of hollywood about 10 years ago.
* The biggest flaw was that they didnt use a stunt artist specialised in strings.
whats wrong in accepting that AR Rahman is a Mallayali...after all that was said by him during his interview with Rediff...we have to learn to respect mallus...atleaset AR Rehman is staying in our great state of TN...he has not migrated back to his roots in kerala. anto-intha Nal Iniyia Nal aga Vaalthugal
