oops it hurts bcoz i might have talked about the party u just voted. OR
May be national anthem is ultimate and national flag is not. OR
May be your party have right to do such things but not someone whom u don't support. OR
May be you are a hypocrat.

as an artist..art shd be given full freedom of expression

Jan gana Man may be national anthem but it has zero value in front of freedom of expression

upreme court acts like God and like we indians r slaves.... and we indians too have bought this mentality in us

Freedom of expression shd not be comprimised

it has become a trend in India to gag voice of art in all speheres on pretext of religion, patriotism blah blah

years ago someone in US posted video on Youtube of gandhi look alike doin pole dance... and indians went crazy as a result video was removed

wat shameful gagging of freedom of expression

i am damn sure had that person been in india ..indians wd have killed him and molested women in his house.. in name of patriotism

I beleive in 100% FOE even if it means demeaning country, religion and everything sacred...infact only then it wd really be freedom of expression

and India sorry its immature country

There is a diff bn freedom of expression and freedom of bakwas. The commercial film makers have only money in their mind. Creativity is Dead, they can only think of making Remixes in the name of songs or copy in the name of remaking. Creating controversies for commercial gains is now an old phenomenon in Indian Film Industry which is rightfully renamed as Bollywood for copying everything from Hollywood and not feel ashamed about it.

Freedom of expression can never mean the freedom of disrespect to nation and its symbols. As an artist, you cant do anything that hurts the feelings of fellow nationals.

MR NITIN

what is freedom of expression if its not for the thinking dat provokes

Man by ur logic even taliban provide freedom of expression ..bcoz they wont do anything to people who speak things they want to hear

ANYTHING THAT HURTS THE FELLOW NATIONALS... and yet it is not gagged... das the real freedom of expression

Wat u r saying and people like u..which are 99.99999% in our country and countries like ours...

'Speak wattever u like, as much u like.. but only that which i like... bcoz i beleive in freedom of expression"

National symbols are not some sacred stuff.... we as people even abuse God when v get upset... so v can abuse god and god doesnt hit us back.... what value dese national symbols have... nothing

i hope someday u people will understand meaning of freedom of expression

Well sorry to say but u've got the whole concept of FEd wrong. As it does not empower an individual to disrespect of hurt someone feeling just as the cost of his pleasure or entertainment or 4 others. If FED is what you said that anybody has got the right to disrespect any lady on the road do any ill things with her, disgrace her and what not. And all this do not fall under vindict of FED. If this is FED that the person who made a cartoon out of Hazrat ohammad should be hoarded with prizes and the mentally sick person who made a naked painting out of Indian godesses should be praised but does not happend. Just think logically why?????????????

Talibanese also do the same thing. Speak whaever they like. do whatever they like. They can destroy the staue of Lord Budhdha. It is their freedom of expression. They dont care for the feelngs of their fellow nationals or their neibours.
In the name of freedom of expression, you cant be allowed the walk naked on the road.

I really liked the theme. What he is trying to express via that song is what we all have in our heart (90% of india). And I also accept the bitter truth. But our National Anthem should not be tempered.

Long live the Pseudo Democracy in our country
by Abhishek Sharma on May 26, 2009 12:34 PM  | Hide replies

I remember when there was a marathi play by the name of "Me Nathuram Godse Boltoy", it was banned as it was against Gandhi. Now RGV is asked not to defame the National Anthem.
How come Hussain is allowed to paint Hindu goddess nude in the name of artistic freedom?

Is the artistic freedom a right of the select few or the religion and politics play a role here.
Being a hindu is being communalist. Jai Ho!!

My only point is: There are two yardsticks to judge actions.
Just to give you an example: The honorable Supreme Court in the year 2005 preached tolerance when 10 students who refused to sing National Anthem in a Kerala school were expelled.
Why is there no tolerance in this case?
I think that one should look at the intentions, and not the actions alone when dealing with art.
By the way, have you heard the lyrics of what RGV has done in rann?
