Please check on wikipedia. According to some sources on internet, Jana Gana Mana was written by Rabindranath Tagore on the request of Motilal Nehru. The poem was composed in December 1911, at the time of the Coronation Durbar of George V, and is considered to be in praise of "the overlord of India's destiny" i.e. King George. If the meaning of the words is read carefully, one can know the significance of the present national anthem which has very less to do with patriotism or the freedom struggle. According to sources on internet, Jawaharlal Nehru supposedly had a stupid theory that Jana Gana Mana should be the national anthem since its much easier for the band to play. In fact Mr. Tagore himself has mentioned that he wrote the poem in praise of God and not our motherland India. So why don't we consider Vande Mataram as our national anthem which is more apt and meaningful??? And doesn't this show that politics and selfishness has always been in the blood of Nehru-Gandhi dynasty instead of patriotism and love for motherland???

my dear friend please write an anthem for india where hindu, muslim as well as sikh sentiments can be maintained properly and please choose a writer who has no religion. otherwise again someday one more controversy will come up.

National anthem is for the nation. It is not necessary to satisfy any community's sentiments. The very mention of your mother land should bring about the strongest sentiments irrespective of your relgn. So the argument on this is crap.
And second thing, The so called jack@ss Neheru rejected Sare Jahan Se Achha on basis of the relgn of the writer, where in Saradr Patel was strongly in for it.

How do u know if your creator is male. Why should u look down upon females who was also created by the same creator who created u? How can men exist on this planet without women. Your mother is one of the major reasons of your existence so why not worship her?

Allah is a arabic word which means 'The GOD'!. In Quran, GOD said he had send warners to every part of the world previously. For eg GOD mentions about Moses, Jesus, Abraham, Noah etc...they came some 10000 years back or may be even before that...GOD only knows it. Muhammad was the last prophet send by GOD to guide the human kind to right path. First learn the basics before you say anything about Islam.

abhishek, Iam from India but working in Dubai as a software engineer in a top bank of UAE. I earn in Lakhs INR per month by GOD's grace. Iam just doing Dawah even this is my duty to bring people to right path...but ultimate decision maker on who will follow right path depends on GOD..
cant anyone tell me whtr attack on parliament and mumbai is more important than national anthem ... if RGV is punished 4 national anthem den y supreme court is mum on AFZAL GURU........
what is this outcry about the national anthem ... i am sure not even 50% of the people here abusing RGV don't remember our national anthem completely ...
