Rubina is not the only one whose house is razed down. There are other children also living in hose slums but media do not care of them. Rubina atleast has a trust set up by slumdog millionaire producer which will help her study and she can use it later when she turns 18.

Let them eat cake is what she is saying. Empathy is something that. comes either from the core or out of experience. Lack of it is either sociopath behavior or deeper mental problem(s)
Sir, We come across News of Hundreds of Corrupted Politicians occupying Govt. Bunglows illegally, in spite of having lost their Portfolios and fall of their Govt. and not paying the bills why doesn't teh authorities throw their belongings on the street and take over the Govt. Building only then these SOBs realize the plight of the poor. These un wanted Bastar*ds must be taught a lesson and shown what they actually deserve.

BROTHER THAT MOVE WAS BOLDLY DONE BY ONLY THE COMMUNIST GOVERNMENT OF KERALA DEMOLISHING THE RESORTS OF RICH FROM MUNNAR...ACHUTHANANTHAN GOVERNMENT WAS ALWAYS WITH THE POOR..TOO BAD COZ OF INTERNAL POLITICS KERALA LOST THEM...HAS ANY OF THE NORTH GOVERNMENT DARD TO DESTROY THE BUILDINGS OF THE RICH..ESPECIALLY CURRUPTED BJP THERE IS NO CHANCE FOR THE DALITS OR POOR TO LEAVE..LOOK WHAT THEY DID IN ORRISA KILLING THE POOR AND NEEDY..NO WONDER BJP IS DYIN..
While I do not question the necessity of clearing land for developmental work, expansion of roads, drainage improvement etc, it looks really pathetic if an artiste who brought India some glory cannot be taken care of by the country. There are crores and crores being spent on a flood of advertisements for IPL, and there cannot be a sponsor for these two? They pay 25-30 crores as fee for the likes of Akshay Kumar and Shah Rukh Khan and even a Darsheel Safari, and the film industry cannot employ these two fine actors, and pay them a living?
The plight of these two well known faces gets the limelight, but the misery of the other children too is no less. This underscores the need for developing affordable housing as part of infrastructure development. Tatas are offering small flats starting 4 lakhs. They could consider cutting costs further and build lower-priced mass housing in the range of 1.5-2 lakhs, away from the city mainland, which could probably be affordable by these people. If costs cannot be brought so far down, the government should take a serious look at taking part of the tab and subsidize it. Chandrababu Naidu can offer cash-transfer every month, and people can't look at facilitating a one-time investment per poor family and give them a roof over their head.
There must have been an MLA from the area. Why couldn't he make sure that the government keeps its promise of the flat that was made to Azhar and Rubina?

The land was not cleared for develppment but for builders I live very close by to these chawls and what was municipality doing for the past 45 yrs mr Angelo this place has been existent municipality left even nearby houses.this was an excersize to humiliate muzl1ms and tell them their real position in so called secular 1nd1a. slums are still there will remain because of uneven distribution of wealth.only thieves &tax ch00rcan afford luxury houses while talented honest hard workers will remain the victim of these bl00d suckers.Muncipality wont even listen if you show them the proofs like ration cards of past 25 yrs electricity bills of past 25 yrs this is a ploy to vacate the land for builders recently builders built up a huge colony in Bandra west where price of real estate is quite high this was not a hutment but what we call Ground chawls (bheti chawls) in Mumbai and they are there practically evry where in the suburbs.

It is dirty politics. The very MLA you are talking about wants to keep them living at the slums so that he can get a lot of votes in his next election. These politicians are not interested in improving the quality pf peoples' lives.

hhehahah. why after congress party being your mommy and daddy. you still want to kill them
Where is chief minister's promise to give her a new flat. It seems this political vendetta should go; before making any promise they should have thought that are they going to keep their word. Poor people hoping to get the best, remains poor, while the bloody politicians enjoy their false-hood-ness. Mohd Akbar.
