The western films that get oscar also show the worst part of western society.There is nothing to be ashamed about the worst part of any society.It is part and parcel of the drama called life.The oscar people look for profound,realistic movies.Such movies are rare in India.People like Shyam Benegal,the late great Satyajit Ray and a few others made such movies.
this movie shows the real india.ppl who are commentin it on negative side are armchair critics who know only to pass comments... these are the ppl who are fit for nothin case.
Every indian will accept if he speak truth that india is a highly corrupted country. Once there was a quote that PROUD TO BE AN INDIAN but now we can replace the word PROUD to SHAME. This movie has a spectacular screenplay and shows all our indians ugly side of hunger for money money money.
I am in Tamilnadu and ours is a state which consists of TELEVISION BEGGERS. Here most of the tamilians( around 75 % ) got the Free TV which they think that is their right. due to this act they proved to the entire nation that Tamilians are the worst beggers of INDIA. If this trend continues you can expect a lot kind of SLUMDOGs in Tamilnadu in near future. We can't digest the truth. so always we will blame others for our mistakes, as the reviewers say that selling india's poverty. If it has poverty then only the others are selling. so from the world selling india's poverty we are indirectly telling what you see in SLUMDOG movie consists of the truth that we don't like to say outside.
Danny Boyle can come to Tamilnadu for his next movie b'cos it has more caste revolutionary stories which are worst than what u seen in SLUMDOG
The movie is made taking the real incidents and moreover it's real fact. There are so many hollywood movies in past and present about the Pshcyopath killers and still they make. Does it mean the entire US is of pshcyopath people who's mind is sick? Entire world knows about India and it good deeds as well the culture of it. One movie will never declare the India as slum. There are so many people from India settled in key positions in many of the countries. We should be proud being an Indian.

what is wrong in the film i do not understand..i still remember "The City of Joy"..its still the same India..nothing has changed..child/women Trafficking is still the biggest business..millions of Indians still living on less than 1 dollar an day...what to do when the educated have no morals and have no character..they refuse to clean up the mess of the soil...their only aim is to make money out of any given situation while bleeding fellow Indians on an day to day basis..notice an doctor..he takes home nothing less than 50,000 to 1 lakh minimum salary,,while an nurse gets 2000 to 3000..PM..and an ayah gets 1200/- this is the salary structures in corporate India..Appollo/Yashodha or any indian hospital...unless the whiteman doesnt make hospitals in India they will get such sals...this is our India...

Alright Varghese.... Nicely put those points. Do you think Indians don't know these facts. Well, they do? They do not need a British to tell them. Dont expect "Slumdog" to change their heart and create a revolution. Its a matter of 2 to 3 months. All the hoopla around the movie dies down and we'll go back to our slums.
