All out boring movie
by asa asa on Aug 10, 2009 10:33 PM  | Hide replies

I think Mr Sen has some kind of limitation while expressing his honest opinion as he is paid employee and he cannot just write the truth in plain way that it was "BAKWAAS" movie.

People on net have actually fast forward the movie to complete it whereas people like me in theatre were thinking if possible can we simply go to the person showing reels and request him to show us something else if he has in his shelf like some old cricket match or infact even any movie say 20 years back.

The movie has no life. Saif Ali Khan looks like elder brother to Deepika and Deepika was looking as feets and miles taller than him.

One thing about Deepika, her smile is vibrant and her acting is not and I guess if she will read this message.... She will say "I know" :-)

Saif as sardar does not impress that much but believe me everytime that part used to come, the movie used to become good experience. Although the sardar story was not new but still treatment was sweet and that brazilion model has really put the act well. If not told nobody could have guessed that she is not Indian. That's the beauty of acting... Deepika learn from her. Rishi Kapoor... one of finest actor, always an pleasure to watch.
Songs were fine but overall bore, lengthy and poor screenplay movie.

Mr Sen, let me correct your mistake or let me stand for you for your actual opinion. Please see the stars

I absolutely agree with the editor. Deepika is a horrible actress and to top it all, she behaves as if she is a natural. Everybody has been going gaga over DEEPIKA AND HER FILMS, but the truth is that out of 3, 2 of her films worked. OSO was a hit not becoz of her, but the hype that was created around the movie by the director and the actor-producer themselves. And BAH was a mediocre hit. She has not yet established herself as an actress, but this bikini model behaves as if she is the queenbee of bollywood. Well, she may have got her hands full of Godfathers, but neither her looks and acting skills can guarantee her a long run in Bollywood. How can the editor call her a Barbie. Is he out of his mind. And, please stop comparing her to the ethereal beauties Kareena, Katrina and Aishwarya. Forget that, shes getting her roles on the basis of casting couch. If Imitiaz Ali was not the director of this movie, it would have bombed at the box office becoz of Deepika's poor acting skills and plain looks. I still wonder how can someone call her skin show in OSO a beauty-driven performance of a mannequin. With that kind of nose, you dont even fall close in looks to the likes of so many heroines who have been spell-binding Indians with their deadly looks for ages. Her complexion is wheatish and frankly speaking, she looked hopelessin comparison to the other two leading ladies of BAH.

Raja Sen
by Jehan Mir on Aug 09, 2009 08:59 PM

All of you out there ,you have to learn to be respectful and tolerant of views and opinions of other people. There is no point getting on Raja Sen's case.He is as much entitled to his opnion as you are.Nonetheless, you are free to browse other reviews if you like.

The purpose of movie review is to let you make an informed and a low threshold decision whether watching a particular movie is worth your time and money.Everyone views same movie differently depending on one's likes, dislikes, life's experiences and preferences. A 100 year old is not going to be whole lot interested in a love story, though he may be more interested in History channel,so take it or leave it and have your peace.

Hey Guys & Girls
by Guest on Aug 09, 2009 02:03 PM  | Hide replies

The movie depicts love, one would only realise or feel the pain when he / she reaches that era, when there is something amiss, if at all there was love once. True love will always hurt whether old or new, if anyone was really in love. Appriciate the depth, Ask people who found their love again after 15-20 years. It is amazing.......

Waste of time and money
by Saurabh Sahajpal on Aug 09, 2009 01:16 AM

LAK is truly a waste of time and money and I was really surprised when someone told me it has been sold for 63 crores! I pity the distributors! We have had enough of the confused lover boy image of Saif in Hum-Tum and DCH. The character of Kareena in Jab We Met is taken a step forward by Deepika here (without her acting of course!) more so when the morning after her marriage she mentions to her husband (Rahul Khanna) of how its all not right (is she joking!) and how she will ask for his forgiveness later on (oh so really she is!!) It's a half baked movie where the way the director has shown the flip flop between the past and present love stories is totally off the hook. All in all, I and my friend who had gone to see the movie felt really let down. Can we have a stop to this obsession of play boy turned lover boy image please? At no point in the film do we feel connected to any of the lead characters. Those who actually did a good job have been given a very meagre screen time. Saif doesn't seem genuine while mouthing his dialogues (I wonder if there actually was a dialogue writer for this movie!) and Deepika is totally stone faced. Saif as the Sardar still manages to look like one but again his dialogue delivery totally lets him off. 30 mins down the interval, you feel like walking off the theatre (which anyway is more or less empty!). Trust me, one feels actually cheated on watching this movie.

Mera Naam
Dumb movie
by Mera Naam on Aug 09, 2009 12:20 AM

This was an idiotic, dumb and lengthy movie. The plot was sufficiently interesting enough to have been made into a half-watchable movie, but what brought it down was Deepika who can safely be termed as this era's Hema Malini; a lot of dimples, a beautiful face but can't act to save her life.

I think Deepika has been told repeatedly how she has a dazzling smile, and now she just can't seem to switch it off, even in tragic scenes!

And Saif needs to grow up and act his age, not those skirt-chasing 25 roles please! The "funny" lines given to him were truly juvenile and pathetic. People in the audience were tittering nervously, as if they didn't want to be caught laughing at such lame insipid jokes.

I wish I could say that Rishi Kapoor was the sole saving grace of the movie, but then it was so very apparent that he had a fake beard stuck on to play a Sikh that it spoiled his entire performance! But yes, he was much more natural than the others.

The girl who played Harleen is apparently a Brazilian girl but looks absolutely Indian , and has a sweet innocent look.

So, all in all a waste of time and money.
