oscar award given to rahman, gulzar, pookuty only. but what role of irfan in the movie. he didnt get oscar, anil kapoor didnt get it. but still ppl celebrating their arrival in ind. baheti ganga me haath dho raha hai irfan
As I thought that its going to be south idnians who will get Oscar but i thought it would be KAMAL HASAN, but it was Rahman and resul pookutty who did it first.
KAMAL HASAN where are you dude, Its you who is the BEST ACTOR IN INDIA.

the best actor was, is and always will be amitabh bachchan. but guess u need taste for that.
by the way i wont abuse kamal hasan as usually southies abuse amitabh. kamal hasan is also a very good actor. he is just not amitabh.

The nation of short,dark and malnutritioned people would have to pick tall amitbah and fair kamal hasan. Kamal is little better in acting but amitbah is a stage actor where over the top expressions and emotions are neccessary to convey the message in a big auditorium. The best actors( natural acting) in bollywood are naseerudin shah, om puri, saif ali khan, rishi kapoor, shabana azmi, k k menon, konkena sen sharma, raj pal yadev and the best of all is shorab shukla.

It is not Kamal Haasan & Amitabh, the BEST EVER ACTOR in India is Mammoottty.
Bacuase of acting only in Malayalam films he hasn't get the Oscar yet. But i am sure he will get it

yes, an avg movie like SM winning 8 oscars is indeed the 8th wonder of this world. They were so overwhelmed with the poverty shown that they gave 8 oscars , poor guys.

I guess you know nothing about camera panning, editing, back ground sound mixing and screen play. Can you tell us something about all the above that how all the above categories were average in the movie. SLUM dog didn't win because of poverty shown. West has seen it many times, e.g water etc.
OSCAR has some standards !! well well well the movie is some kind of third grade masala movie which comes every second week in india. Probably the Hollywood guys need to pick up some more from india so that they can raise their standards... Slumdog ...what a boring movie... jai ho

Sandeep, can you pick 5 recent movies from hollywood and 5 all time movies from bollywood who had equal or better camera panning techniques, tight editing, natural back ground sound mixing, crisp screen play and all the above corrosponding to the mood, story and characters then slum dog?

Your quality of thinking is just too low i suppose. you don't want to accept the fact ab Slumdog, coz you feel that you will be looked down as well. The issue hightlighted in the movie by a foreigner (no bollywood can do it so perfect) which is gonna be an eye-opener to the rest of the world and a change may come to those "under privileged" (so called in india only). Besides you want to be in fantasy (stupid) world of bollywood jumping like a joker.

Amar Flora, the last time I checked India is a third world country full of corruption and slums. Truth hurts, I suppose.
RaviShankar, Anoushka, Zakhir Hussain, Hariprasad Chaurasia, and now A R Rahman have proved that Indian music is the best in the world... Resul Pookuty has also done wonders in sound...So indian sounds are best!!!
Also, though Jai Ho is not Rahmans' best, please listen to his background & theme scores (Escape & Mausam) & you will realise why it got Oscar
