No doubt Rehman is great but his performance for other songs are much better. Who in oscar are able to understand the meaning and feeling of this song? It is consulation prize for India for allowing India to show such in bad shape. Much better movie in India is already made but not by "Goras" like Friday, Ek doc ki maut, New Delhi times, Salim landey pey mat ro --- list is too long. But now the director is Gora and having connections for promotion. Ultimate Result is Oscars publicity which in recent time dimmed, promotion of English movies in India beacuse of largest customer base in whole world. My main problem is using the word Dog in name film. Why no nomination for best child/hero act? Why not something in codirection where all help is given by Indians to Goras.

He has given great music for Chayya Chayya song and Taal songs...those music was 10000 times better than Jai Ho !!!. This clearly shows one needs exposure to get the right fame one truly deserves!!!!. As Slumdom millianare is English movie, It has reached to major audience who votes in oscar!!.
But Rahman, who can avoid the things which God has decided???. God bless you!! You made our country proud....And Iam sure that even non-hindi and non-indian audience will start listening to your music and every year, they will consider you in oscars!!!!!!! Ameen!! Allah Hafiz (God be with you)

It was destiny and the god's grace that Rahman should get Oscar as he choose Islam with god's grace with all odds are against him at his younger age that made him to aquint the laungauge"HINDHI". ONE MUST ADMIT LAUNGUAGE PLAY CRITICAL ROLE IN COMPOSING THE MUSIC FOR THE SONG. Though Ilayaraja, Harris and other music dircetors in TN eqaually and may be more genius than Rahman, they could not be exposed to Bollywood due to their handicap in proficiency in HINDHI.The lesson is that atleast now the self centred politicians who spoiled so many persons life like this should allow as optional subject as Hindhi in all schools. Is it not Rahmans god's grace to win the Oscar against all these odds. I want to make this as national view point against the self centred politicians who curb Hindi at all Govt.schools in TN and see more Rahmans are come from Tamilnadu. C Bala Hubli

OSCAR ACADEMY wants to degrade and dis-respect India by giving awards to the film which depicts India as ugly dog. I can't accpet this facts, becazy most of the people in slums are delibrately living in slums for getting some Govt., benefits and even they own more properties than other middle class peopple. There were very good nice movies/songs earlier than slum dog / Jai ho but Oscar awards were not given for those films. I feel there is a very big conspiracy behind this for degrading our reputation.
