Poverty and slums are a reality of India. But why the west only celebrates the reality about the poverty in India. I'm sure there are other films made in India which showed reality about other things including politics. Why is it that only Indian poverty makes the west feel good? The movie is full of Indian stereotypes in the west - slums, poverty, crime, corruption, elephant, people traveling on train top, Tajmahal, toursits being conned and yes new stereo type - call center!

Very true bolywood and ind media is doing same thing one particular community painted as bad and evil other is as spotless innocent victimised and great Why nobody making film/documentory on butchery done kashmiri pundists? why nobody making films on murad killing,muo riots, bombblast in varansi, akshardam, delhi, mumbai trian blast, iskon imphala
The same game when they play with their families and sexual lives then it is called "sandwitch" I suppose. On one side they are trying to win the heart of minority groups in India and on the other hand they are supporting and participating in torturing innocent small children of Iraq and Afganistan. Instead of respecting India for its greatness that it has sheltered so many refugees from Iraq and Afgan who were victimized in war by cruel British armies sent at the frontire by Tonny Blaire,they are showing others India in a bad shape ?? Actually they are jelous to India and China for both are progressing and are not insulting others religion,that's why the problem is. We should know that these Britishers are playing politics all over world against Indian students. Such a mean minded race deserves hell in their next birth. We are not so selfish and inhumen or subhumen unlike Britishers that we will occupy most of the world's land area by using arsenals on innocent native population. Hitlar was the man who treated them correctly. We should prey more and more people like him in future. These Indians are always behaving like dog since our freedom nights. On direction of Nehruji and Gandhi baba,they gave hand to British army and faught against Ajad Hind Fowz. Now they are doing the same mistakes again. May Devil only save this country.
Sreenath Sreenivasan, what's wrong with you ? Do you have to live miserably by "criticizing everything and anything" ? And the way you're bringing up your children (not correcting them at the tender age), they might question you you when they mature.
Right now, you remind me one of the Bollywood blokes who does the same when he's given an opprtunity to be a host on awards show on the TV . I think his name is Saajid Khan and he will also tell you who's bad and who's worse.

SDM is british movie, the writer is also ind origin Uk citizen.In bolywood style the director changed story ,name of character and added some bolywood masalaa like showing majority in negative manner and so called minorities are vitimised. Even the boy who projects as Bhagawan splits hated in his eyes. This is reality of bolywood movie showing anything related mejorityin neagive manner,while glorifiying things related to so called minority ind secular politicians/ national media hindi eng print & electronic media all fault belongs to mejority and minority is spotless innocent and good Selling india to earn extra petro dollars is a new trend of some elte indians or media ppl Nadita das Firaq , Aravind adigas book White tiger or latest bolywod movie Delhi 6 all are real plot mejority vs minority

After UPA 5 rs rule many outsider think ind is an islamic country with Tajmahal, and mosqes and darugaas, and hot pup is guj riots and babri masjid demolition When indians only selling country, If some foreigners gets award and make moeny WHAT IS WRONG WITH IT AR REHMAN IS GREAT GENIUS AND OSCAR IS ONE FEATHER FOR HIS TELANT EVEN without oscar his greatness wont go down
what is it? is there any thinking in mind of india as how they r being insulted? u do not deserve it like this how it is given! in fact, rehman gave his worst music in "slumdog.." , compared to his earlier music in 'jodha akbar', 'lagan', roza, bombay etc! freida pinto acted as normal as a little less from new comer in hindi film! story line is hypothetical! jamal was asked all the question from his life experience only! got up story! poverty show? hundred times more poverty , reality were shown in mrinal sen, shyam benegal movie! do u want to tell that indian could not make such a film to get a oscar till date! if the talent is appreciated then, the every film of satyajit roy's, mrinal sen's , shyam benegal etc would have got oscar award! was there no merit in "mother india", "lagan" or "TZP"etc brilliant indian film or other indian language? don't u find any indian film to get nominated for oscar untill a foreigner make movie on india's poverty porn? if u r a self respected and nationalist, definitely u will not be proud for these 8 oscar as we have the believe in ourself that we had made, will be making good films more than 'slumdog.’ indian, please understand, where u r being striked! i would definely tell that to-day is our humiliation day internationally! i would not have bothered if foreigner r insulting us onesidedly in their own area(outside india) but i am bothered as how shamelessly my indians r singing their song! do u deserve to be slum dog?

i had a very strict objection on name ‘slumdog’ which is being tried to justified as underdog! then why in this film again and again jamal was called by the police inspector as ‘mr. dog’ or simply as ‘dog’? because it’s hidden intention of boyle like western to give Indian a new name –‘slumdog’! it’s new world, then how directly dog can be called! earlier this britisher used to call us ‘dog’ and sign board they used to keep ‘ dogs & Indians r not allowed’! ‘slumdog’ is not a dictionary word! u can not create a word like this! then who is underdog in office, he can be called ‘office dog’! who is underdog in a locality, he can be called as ‘localitydog’!
u travel by bus and u like custard, then ur friends r calling u sounds like ‘bastard’! is it o.k.? when u object if they explain that we called u ‘bustard’ what means ‘ a large land bird that can run very fast’ as u r traveling very fast , we were just comparing! will u be satisfied? shud u not stop them from calling u such? !!!!

ask any NRI why he wants to come back to India? One of his major criterias is he misses his servants. no slums no servants
think most of us who have a problem with slums being shown in a movie have no problems when slums actually exist. We have no problems when millions of Indians live in abject poverty. Some sell their blood, others sell thier organs and many others sell their existence and even their children. We never have a problem as we continue to bask in what is infamously known as 'India Shining' but here comes a movie that shows that one from the slums, and not from the highly opinioniated middle class is shown to go to win KBC and we start finding faults and our sense of 'fake' outrage takes over. Why didnt we object when Agneepath, Hum, Naseeb, Mother India, Do Bigha Zameen, Kala Patthar went on to show slums? is it because these movies didn't win an Oscar and it would not have been fashionable to make such noises. Hundreds of movies come and go. If this one is being opposed because our Indian sensibilities are hurt (and they shouldn't have been) at other times we start opposing movies because they star a particular actor, or show a particular historical story in the format we don't want to watch. Our problem is, that we have a problem with everything.I'll go with Rahman...and choose 'Love' over 'Hate'. Chill guys. Enjoy. By the way guys when are you begining to protest 'Delhi-6' because it shows a God dancing in front of a leader. I was hoping half of you to start hopping already...or havent you received your cheques from your eladers to start protesting as yet?
Few lines to the ppl who are bashing the oscars and westerners......whether it's oscars, filmfare or golden globes, no matter where the movie is made, in the end all that matters is was the movie entertaining or not ( be it tragic, horror, adventure ) . SM simply is fast paced entertaining movie. so it gets it's due
