The old world passes away
by Jaganniwas Iyer on Apr 09, 2009 10:44 PM

With the passing of Shakti Samanta, who gave us many unforgettable films, the old innocence of Hindi cinema, which was once part of our lives is slowly passing into the sands of time. We will never see that age again.

Yes, time and tide wait for none.
Its sad to know of Shakti Samanta's demise, but like everyone in this world, he too had to go. I will always be grateful for the fantastic films he produced..Evening in Paris, if I remember, Amar Prem and so on.

May God give peace to his soul and reward him for all the good work he did on the earth by providing momentary happiness to millions.

Great combination with Super Star Rajesh Khanna
Shakti Samanta was one of the most successful and finest filmmakers of the Hindi Film Industry. Can anyone forget Aradhana which was the biggest blockbuster of 1969 and popular for its exotic locales and electrifying songs with Super Star Rajesh Khanna. He had a penchant for good music which was evident in all his movies.

Shakthi Samanta had produced box-office hits for Super Star Rajesh Khanna like Aradhana - 1969, Kati Patang - 1970, Amar Prem - 1971, Anuraag - 1972, Ajanabee - 1974, Mehboob - 1976, Anurodh - 1977, Ayaash - 1982, Awaaz - 1984, Alag Alag - 1985 and his movies with Super Star Rajesh Khanna were super hit.

'Samanta magic' with Super Star Rajesh Khanna didn't work with Bachchan
