SHAKTI SAMANTA WAS ONE OF THE GREATEST FILMMAKER IN BOLLYWOOD.I LIKE HIS FILMS LIKE ARADHANA,KATIPATANG,AMAR PREM,AMANUSH,ANANDA ASHRAM,ANUSANDHAN,MEHBOBA,AN EVENING IN PARIS,ANURAAG,ANYAY ABICHAR...ETC..MY CONDOLENCES.
Now People remember him as creator of Rajesh Khanna...through Aradhana, Amar Prem, Kati Patang...He is the icon who introduced Sharmila to Hindi Screen (even in 2-piece Bikini in..An Evening in Paris) ...and made her versatile actress in the later movies (Aaradhana, Amar Prem).
But how can sixties patrons forget his naughty movies with Shammi Kapoor (An Evening in Paris, Kashmir Ki Kali, etc), Dev Anand-Madhubala (Jaali Note), and so on....
I request Raju Bharatan to bring back the memories of Shakthi Samantha...and his association with O.P.Nayyar, Shankar-Jaikishan, S.D. Burman, R.D. Burman, and others....
It's a shame that Rediff hasn't posted a photo of the departed director. Talk about SRK..rediff makes no mistake about posting nice shots. Realize Rediff what a prominant film personality Mr. Shakti Samanta was. He was the major force of success of two Bollywood bigwigs of the past..Shammi Kapoor and Rajesh Khanna! Shame on you Rediff for not posting his picture!

Man, how come I am disrespectful. May S S's soul rest in peace. Having said that, there is no harm in acknowledging SRK's place in India at every point of life. After all he is the benchmark everything gets compared to. I mean come on man, wake up and smell the coffee.
Lost is another great personality of Bollywood. Another nail in the coffin of good quality movies and opening a bit more gap for modern rubbish. Shakti Samata you will carry on leaving in the hearts of good movie lovers and your fans. For us you are immortal. MAY YOUR SOUL REST IN PEACE.
