Raja Sen, after so many real good work when u too started to get money. 5 out of 5 for this music, u and rediff better visit good ENT dr or ask more money from aamir fr this excellent review for that below average music.

So are you calling it a FLOP because you've been bought by ARR's and Aamir's enemies? Dont be ridiculous dude. Its a review. Raja Sen has been right some, and wrong some. But its a review in the end. No one is forcing you to go buy the album if you dont like it. Just stay away from it if you dont like it.
Well, what can I say? I guess Amir and ARR have lovers and haters. I guess this comes with the kinda status they have attained.
I've heard so many people bash Yuvvraaj saying that it was not so un-Rahmanesque. And now that Ghajini is out, I now see people saying Yuvvraaj is good, but Ghajini is baaaad.
While treating a subject that is purely a masala film, and having HUGE expectations being a Aamir film, the criticsm is sure to flow. I still can remember Lagaan being bashed the first month of its release. And later on, people were worshipping it.
Give it some time. Personally, other than Latoo, all songs seemed really different in their sound. And please, all people who have seen the Tamil version, stop comparing it with the original -- Rahman has his own stamp on this one.

One more thing -- not all of ARRs music can be appreciated the first time while simply listening on the radio or a casette player.
He has done movies like Zubeida and 1947 Earth, which when heard in any way, just impress your rightaway. The reason is the genre of music composed in these films.
Ghajini is pure run of the mill and is heavy in the use of isntruments. So people, just dont shout out without even giving it a good listen. I can't get the songs out of my head right now...
(All except for Latoo... lol. I think Rahman does come up with Shano Shano in every album, but the rest is pure magic)
The music for this film to me is a master piece only for the ones who are trained singers or are as versatile as Shri sen. unfortunately , to me none of the songs could impress as guzarish to me had a similar effect as saathiyan, (title track by rahman again) baheka which I heard in the radio today was absolutely confusing which no ordinary music lovers like me can sing even if we want to. Trully it is the wildest by A.R. RAHMAN who forgot all about us. We are happy to have a RNBDJ which we can sing at any point of time. This master piece goes from above the head and it is not at all meant for us for sure.

Behka was confusing the first time I saw the promo... I was like, man, Rahman has really messed up this time.
But listening to it in my Bose system here just rocks baby. The jazzy interludes are awesome. ARR is using a lot of jazz these days (in SOK, JTYJN, and now Ghajini).
RNBDJ is simple and nice given the subject. I doubt Rahman would have been allowed to give pure melody for Ghajini.
Just like people bashed Rang De Bsanti and started liking it after seeing the movie, am sure Behka and Aye Bachoo would be hits once seen on the screen to appreciate it more.

Honestly, I dont think you can compare 2 music directors composing in 2 different languages with so different cultures.
I can only say that its definitely different to hear pure masala stuff from ARR after a long time in Hindi... (btw, when was the last time he gave 2 masala films in the same year that have so much youth appeal?)
What a terrific review. I have always been a secret admirer of your reviews/blogs but never written a comment. I would not want to damn the review :-) but as a die-hard Rahman fan, I cannot wait to listen.

The music is good stuff.. 5 stars? Dont think so. I'll surely give it atleast 3.5 - 4. But I cant help but say that the music rocks.

now i got the entire plot .. u all were doin fake publicity of a particular film .. u were simply against yuvvraaj(an indian culture family entertainer) and praised the crap movie dostana(the semi porn or double meaning movie).. this time u r in full praise of ghajini .. music is good , bt not excellent .. rediff is saleable .. paisa do aur review me stars badhao .. if u have guts rediff , then mail me back .. i'll teach how to review ..
