Lattoo is a winner!
by G on Nov 28, 2008 03:30 AM

Lattoo song could be a dark horse among Guzarish, Behka et al. It's a nice groovy number. The actual song starts at 02:50 because of the Houston-Eagle thingie in the start. I didn't like the beginning but it could look well in the movie....don't know.

Overall, it's a nice album with many good songs.

Guzarish, Kaise Mujha and Behka are just masterpieces ... Ayyo Bachu and latto has too much instruments..but i guess these both too will rock big time when the movie is released in theaters..

Its A full massala album

Hail the new Anu Malik, Mr A R Rehman. 5 films this year and Blue should be out soon as well.
Yuvraaj is probably the best in terms of compostions and experimentations. Too bad it will all be lost under the failure of the film.
Ghajini, though nothing special is can still be more successful than Yuvraaj as the film will be 1000 times better than Yuvraaj.
Unfortunately, like Anu Malik of the yore, ARR has started to sound repetetive and yes he does lifts beats from Latino music groups (eg Miami sound etc).
As for Raja Sen, he called Yuvraaj's music a bad rehash of Viju Shah's music. Now Viju was an expert of Techno music (esp Gupt, the best techno-bolly album) but ARR did not use any techno stuff in Yuvraaj. He has in the past but definitely in yuvraaj.
Point is Raj Sen's views are limited by his knowledge. So dont take them seriously!!

"he does lifts beats from Latino music groups"

You mean reggaeton? Son, it's a beat... like "disco" beat, waltz and bhangra. Any son of a gun under the sun can come up with their own song based on the rhythm. I think Yuvraj and Ghajni both have their moments. Why compare?

Gupt, the best techno album! Can be told best techno copy as only thing he did was to copy from deep forest. You can do a search for deep forest in you tube for the originals.

I know that it was copied but unfortunately I ll ve to say Big deal? Everyone copies ... wake up and smell the coffee.
But still Gupt stands tall among all techno creations from bollywood.
Cheeck this
Asshiqui.. copied songs from Pakistan and 2 english ones.
Saajan... same as above
ddlj... copied old indian songs
Tanha tanha from rangeela copied from enigma...
I am sorry the list goes on....
I am not supporting or oppsing Viju Shah. I am just saying that among techno music there is only one good album and thats gupt. IMHO

Dude, before you make allegations, would you mind throwing some examples? For example, Tanha Tanha was copied from Enigma, but which Enigma song? DDLJ, which old Hindi song? Something like "Paheli Nazar" from race copied from that Korean song. Be specific.

I agree Gupt was awesome. I don't agree it's techno tho. It was pretty well made album and "Mere Sanam" is still fabulous listen.

it is always a habit to give hype whne arr compose music- he composes for 2 or max 3 films in a year , tht too for leading heroes/producers and they make a lot of hype as if no other composer is making good music. these are all business tactics and promo stunst. media also plays its role and they als get rewarded for this. rediff should learn to know that 50 films are produced and look other good music and not the 2 /3 done by one composer -

best producers/heroes come to ARR only because he is the best musician. Else why would genius Mani Ratnam take him for Roja and it was ARR's first movie when he was not even 20 years. If yuvvraj movie's name is heard anywhere that is because of ARR's music .. Looks like ur IQ is very low .. go get ur brain tested..

Sonu Nigam welcomes us in Guzarish with his graceful humming, grabbing our attention instantaneously. Although I never thought I’d ever hear a song in which Sonu is deprived of words, I’m not going to complain as Javed Ali does a stellar job with his rendition of this exceedingly romantic number. The way he extends the “shh” in “baarish” is very enjoyable. And, I like the way he elevates his voice higher while singing the “i-i-ishhh” part in “guzarish.” The pace of this song and the use of mandolins is excellent. Kavita Baliga also does a great job of providing operatic vocals. On a side note, the tune of “tu meri adhoori pyaas pyaas, tu aa gayee mann ko raas raas, ab toh tu aa jaa paas paas” reminds me of the tune to another Rahman composition:”hansti rahey tu hansti rahey, hayaa ki laali khilti rahey” from Saathiyaa. I also admire Prasoon Joshi for breathing meaning into his lyrics, which most other lyricists seem to be abstaining from these days. The lines, “Sheeshe ke khwaab leke raaton mein chal rahaa hoon, takraa naa jaaoon kahin. Aashaa ki lau hai roshan, phir bhi tufaan kaa darr hai, lau bujh naa jaaye kahin” really leave an impact.

Aye Bachchu is a really fun number and Suzanne sings this song with A LOT of energy and attitude. I enjoy the way she enunciates each word clearly. Rahman uses the guitars generously in this number, making you want to break out dancing immediately. While som
