He was down with diabetes and was also fighting his drug addiction. He was a heavy drinker and almost single-handedly contributed to his untimely death. Such a Wonderful actor. For Tamil audience wondering what the Shiva movie our Telugu friends are talking about, it's the Udhayam movie dubbed from Telugu. Wonderful early career. He also had wonderful roles in some Ajit/Vijay movies.
Only now did I realise that he hadn't acted with Kamal at all, but again, he had a great (career) path ahead of him, if not for the drugs and drinks....hmmm. really sad story!!

even a telugu daily too quoted it as 59 yrs. i donno y they publish such things without verifying. Raghuvaran has not only acted in tamil n malayalam, but also acted in telugu, kannada and of course hindi too. In fact veteran thespian Dilip Sahab was all praise for him when he played a villain's role against him. He was a marvellous actor - i guess - who dint get his due.
Yes...everybody wished to see his photo along with this article...i dont know why rediff missed to put one snap of him. Anyway...life is something which we cannot predict...he was the owner of a tremendous voice than anybody in the film industry ...same as amitabh bachan, i believe....just pray for him.....may his soul rest in peace.
Being a very good actor, he has entralled audiences in lots of movies. I liked his potrayal of a father's role in Anjali as his finest performance. A very sad day for the Tamil Audiences.

and the special role with which he came to limelight was of Pasivadi Pranam in Telugu. I am told that he played the same role in malayalam too. However, it was "Bhavani" in the film Nagarjuna-starrer SHIVA by Ramgopal Varma that he shot to fame both in Telugu and Hindi. I salute his terrifying voice and his acting prowess.
