what I can understand from above passage is someone named "Raja Sen" wasted important moments of his life.Mr Raja, you would have taken ur wife out for dinner instead of criticising such a unique and extra ordinary movie. at least u would have done sometthing good. you would have played with kids, help needy people. what on earth has made you to criticise such a beautyful creation. u must be some one fake opposite to Farhan Akhtar, my guess is you are some bollywood guy/gal jealous of Farhan.you should have thought at least thousand times before writing this shit. you would have got mess in your bedroom and cupboard clean instead of saying so.why the hell you misused public mass communication medium to have 200% false impact of good thing in others mind. do you know 'M' in music? have u ever hold guitar in your hand. have u ever sung "Sa - the ultimate shadja" in proper tone. u really sound like dead piano guitar with strings of hairs of polar bear.(sorry dead piano and polar bear and its guitar for your insult in public).Raja sen, in short YOU SUCK.

Roke on has gr8 music. They really research a lot about the rock music. Its gr8. Its not typical Hindi filmi songs. Tired of hearing these filmi songs. Well done Roke on team. Good job.
Decent hindi rock album, with 2 acoustic jazzy numbers thrown in. Farhan Akhtar's singing makes the songs in the movie very real. Maybe they should have tried out another unknown male singer on the album versions (I keep thinking of Amanat Ali from Saregamapa'2007). Simple lyrics identify very well with the concept of an immature rock band.
ROCK FANS STAY THE HELL AWAY!!!! aweful to say the least. Its exactly what your friends think about rock i.e. rock n roll is shaking your head hard and gyrating the guitars with an awful lot of noise. Im surprised raja sen even put a star on this. and the lyrics oh my god, i cant think of anything worse ok maybe britney spears genre but even that is in hard competition. Rock lyrics have inspired a nation to stop a war. surreal imagery interwoven with political insight. Layers of music weave in seemingly simple patterns—deceptively simple patterns.
The same for the rolling stones indian edition, unfortunately i bought the one with these morons on the cover although that had nothing to do with my purchase.(i bought it because there was a cover of pink floyd and mark knopfler) Absolutely no musical insight except for the legal battles and pettiness of roger waters and gilmour.

the only thing which was pleasing to the ears was sakshi singing ajeeb dastan hain yeh to the accoustic guitar

One of the worst pieces of rock.. actually one of the worst pieces of music!!! The whole idea of bollywood rock is shaking your head hard and gyrating your guitars. The only piece of music which is pleasing to the ears is when sakshi sings ajeeb dastaan hain yeh to the accoustic guitar. Let me not even start to talk about the lyrics .... awful!!! In the 60\'s the lyrics of rock inspired a nation to stop a war. Be it surreal imagery or just plain political insight. Bollywood please stick to running around the trees sequence.
Which brings me to the rolling stones (indian edition) Unfortunately, i bought the one with these morons on the cover , but for entirely different reasons as there was a cover of pink floyd and mark knopfler. It was painstaking to even go through the articles. Half baked ideas with no substance or insight at all. I have copied below from rolling stones edition on the release of box of rain (american beauty)
\"Box of Rain\" takes plenty of time, and moves surely. The band isn\'t in any great hurry. Layers of music weave in seemingly simple patterns—deceptively simple patterns. Phil Lesh\'s singing is just right. The chorus is fine: \"A box of rain will ease the pain/And love will see you through.\" \"Believe it if you need it/If you don\'t just pass it on.\" Praised be Bob Hunter. Countrified Dead is so nice to listen to.\"

clearly this guy doesnt know a darn thing about Rock....well, here's the bottom line...its supposed to be an expression of freedom...and above all...straight from the heart!.....surely the music will dissapoint you if u still stuck in the 80's flute, tabla and bappi da's colourfull keyboard mixes...or if u were expecting gulam ali or jagjit singh to sing the soundtrack for the movie... the point is....I believe Mr. Akhtar's voice, though a little crude I admit, made perfect sense...it was unique...had good range...and a fair degree of control in its modulations...it was OK Sir!....hmmmmm....iv heard someone else too whose like that....uuummmmmmm.....ah! yes....bryan adams! The music....i really dont care how it scores on any one guy's list....on the whole...it has a potential to start something new in India...not exactly 'new'...but it can re-ignite the lost hope for our own true desi Indie-Rock!
I understand rock music well and I think your review about the music is spot on.Rock ons music is hopeless and the lyrics are awful.A nursery rhyme video producer wont hire these morons.Rock? My ass?Its all style and no substance.

I couldnt expect such a dumb review by the rediff personnel...I think you guys have absolutely NIL knowledge as far as music is concerned..you guys should have HEART to appreciate how good the music of the movie is..of course the lyrics are dumb..but tell me 1 thing: which lyrics of western songs make any sense, but you guys still praise them..isnt that dumb????????????

i agree with anshuman, tho i also agree with sharad, western music has its fair bit of crass as well. Of course u can sense the difference, rock on isnt as crassy as some crass that tops the charts in US/Uk
