Re: Is there ANYONE here?

you need not, its just a popcorn movie - which you can whilst away your time with. like taxi no 9211. it need not be a mother india every time.
its a great movie...but the greatest flaw is that they dont have a bass guitarist....and there is heaps of base in the movie....so it simply fooled the audience in that field.

Guess you guys missed the dialogue in which the drummer says that the keys guy is a sort of prodigy who does all the bass programming :) Loved the movie, cheers

haha, dont look for details dude. its a hindi flick, we never do details.
but for a start its not bad. in hollywood, they go to extreme details, and with the sets of the movie - they make a theme park, unlike us - we skimp of details, goof up on the plot, and yet the audience doesnt mind that one bit!
what was rampal doing with the guitar anyways ? i know to strum a few notes, and the idiot was all at sea. well, at least he knew how to wield the guitar, unlike the superman in karzzz ... himmesh! if someone wanted to torture me 3rd degree - that would be it - watching himmesh 3 hrs.
Its a really cool movie. Even my dad enjoyed the movie. Plus points 1. Music just Rocks - Great work by Shankar Ehsaan Loy - Farhan has a very sexy husky voice just abt for Rock songs 2. Subtle performances by all cast but the 4 boys take the cake 3. Special mention for Farhan & the absolutely gorgeous Arjun. 4. Last & not the least applaud the director for excellent direction, story telling & cinematography. For despite the movie being slow and heard so many times, it gives you moments to relate to. Especially when Arjun sings @ the end. The chemistry between the group is not greatly exploited & Frahan leaving his GF (Was she required for the narrative) But its a great movie very well made. Go enjoy the best movie of the year.
i liked the movie not only bcos i love rock but had good performances and direction. bit predictive. i wonder why magik didnt had a bass player.. i guess luke kenny played bass notes on keyboard :)
meet the new generation of bollywood ...farhan,,,arjun..luke...purab..and rest are gang of old people in this industry..who is kumar ...and khans..watch the real movie of this year,,
Its commendable that someone in India dared or rather, had a good sense of making such movie. But i was thoroughly disappointed after watching the movie. Its highly superficial and didnt go anywhere deep into the chemistry that exists in any other Rock Band. A number of stupid loop holes are embarrassing as well.
1). The band won a Channel V competition. Regarding the media reach today, Its absurd that a seemingly high society girl does not know that her husband was heading a band which won a big competition, and almost released an album with a music video . 2). Arjun left the band, Farhaan left mumbai, and they did'nt even get sued for breaking the contract and not even returning. 3). Why Farhaan left his girlfriend? Because he had a fight in the band. 4). I wish, a line up change was featured in the movie (Rampal replaced by some other on guitar after fight, only to be revised later in the movie) This would have been so real and interesting 5). There was one good point in the movie when Rampal comes up with his composition and Farhaan is shown with some Ego clash for a moment. That was the high point in the movie. It happens so many times in a band. But the director let this moment pass away so casually. Wastage.
The music is really good, performances by Farhan specially makes you feel like applauding. He should infact think of making some Rock albums, besides acting and direction. If you have been in a band ever, some scenes will take you back or remind you

pls look at this movie in perspective, compare to the clones which are churned out, Om Shanti Om, Dhoom 1, 2 etc. This was refreshing, bold and new. I loved it!
