Good Movie. and for bollywood.. brilliant. the lyrics need getting used to, but for all the 30-somethings out there, it will strike a familiar chord, and not just A minor.

Why someone is comparing to Korean or some other foreign country movie.....This is just a remake of Jhankar Beats .... Also i am not able to find anything rocking in this movie....Music of Jhankar Beats was 500 times better than this movie with almost same story line and yes climax was absolutely same ..... What a heck .... Just over hyped movie ....
sahana goswami is really cool. she really has acted well. the movie isnt bad watch. decent flick. i listen to rock, so i dint mind the guitar riffs and stuff. not bad at all.
no, its a waste of time. can u really differentiate between 2 songs? all songs have such a similar music that its impossible to tell which is which! only ok song is th etitle track which is a straight lift from the background score of lakshya hwen hrithik climbs the hill. otherwise movie is too slow and yes as for farhan akhtar, 1. a very good director, 2. a very average actor 3. a very poor singer all in all a bore movie to be avoidede! kapil
An Absolute gem of a movie, the one that made me buy the audio CD as soon as i stepped out of the hall. I don't care if the plot is copied or not, the good part is that it was executed to perfection. true some things may still change for good, but i don't think there is any thing in the movie that will really hit you during the movie. the flaws mentioned in earlier posts are not really flaws, but suggestions to make certain things better. All in all a great movie and a must watch for any one who enjoys good music and has had any passion for rock or music bands during their college days

I liked the movie,good music,good editing, Arjun Rampal rocks....& didnt know that the 4th guy was a videsi...

The South korean movie which you are referring to released on Sep06 2007. Rock On was announced earlier than that. It went on floors end of 2007 and was completed in Mar 2008. Soo, before accusing some ones creative work for plagiarism - authenticate the facts!

also, arent there many such ides and stories like this. this is pretty generic story. they struggle and get toegtehr, they dodge thier issues. not bad a movie. a change from mithunda, govinda, anil kapoor, rishi kapoor, super cliched slam-man khan, boring shah rukh erstwhile stories, yaaawwwn subash bhains, etc etc. we are done with those stupidities.
the movie might not be mainstream, but like dil chahta hai, taxi no. 9211, etc etc these movies are good for 2 hrs - and for some inspiring.
i shudder to think subash bhains ruling the roost with movies like kisna. wtf was that movie abt anyways!!!

After reading those two synopsis and having watched Rock On, I can tell you that it is on no way shape or form a copy.

Sounds like a Brit movie called "Still Crazy" made back in 1998, I think. Terrific little gem of a movie, similar storyline.
