Sony and the Telecom companies, have made all the money through SMS voting. And it is really Shameful that Prashant has become the Indian Idol based on North East Sentimental votes. EMON had all the Talent to become the Indian Idol.
The RJ must be more sensitive to regional sentiments, before making comments. Firstly Prashant is no singer. Secondly he won due to fanatic regional votes and support from across border who wanted to prove their Nationalism.. India is becoming a intolerant society.

The RJ should apologise for his comments on TV, if he has hurt regional sentiments and move on in life.
This RJ must be punished severely. He used the radio broadcast to blurt out his personal prejudice and racist mentality. He should be sacked immediately and tried in court. The comment that RJ made is highly unacceptable.
Guys,protest that RJ. Stop abusing our north-east people.

Idiot racist, why do you make such comments, whatever profession they're in, they're still Indians. It is this very mentality that has divided our nation, it is due to this discrimination, India has generated so many terrorist outfits, did you ever thought why? Before anybody becomes a terrorist, you should look into the trauma that person has gone through, how much discrimination they've gone through and finally the anger and resentment makes them terrorist. And most of the contributors are like you 'Mathew'. So please I appeal to you and people like you, behave like an Indian and be united. God has designed every person to do certain kind of job. Are you intentionally posting these comments to incite reactions? Either way, you are a fool of unseen proportions and should be tracked and banned from using internet. Freedom of speech comes with a responsibility of respect for others. I can understand that the RJ may have said that just for the sake of light humor and it went all wrong. i have been a radio listner from last 18 years and i have seen the shift in the radio generation. previously it was only vividh bharti but now a days there are a no. of radio fm chennal. and even today i appreciate the anchors of vividh bharti like kamal sharma, yusuf khan etc. whan they talk one would feel that as if some family memeber are speaking or taking to you...there timing are great..but now a days i have observed that these radio jockey talks toomuch just for the sake of talking and very fetn they cross the thin red line in creating or making their programme funny...also i have observed that when a low profile person calls to radio station to listen the song etc theey talk to then as the donot care about these listeners ..they always try to make these low profile fool....probably this is because these guys are not properly trained and because they speak a good english they got the job..but they dont know there is big gap between speaking somthing and communicating something, vivek.
Prashant, More courage and respect for you that somebody who is just a common person has promptly seen the damage that "the public" can do, even in reverence or in ignorance. It would be to the prudence of the fans to demand community service of that RJ fellow, and not to disrupt the busy life of Sliguri.
This just proves how racist an Indian generally is. On any street, have you seen an Indian eve-teasing nonchalantly? Well, the proof of it is not only in my experience, but in the movie ChakDe. How those urban and non-urban youth eve-teased the girls from the N-East.
This should be an eye-opener of what indignities people from the North-east communiti4es undergo. If any of you have ever resorted to such levels, it is time for you to aplogise, in the name of humanity and nationality.

Gentleman, this is why you people are teased. You review you comment esp those starting words. Don't forget you are also an Indian but this is not reflecting in your language. I agree with you, no eve-teasing is tolerable(whether NE or Delhiite). This is ot only happen with NE girls. This happens every where. Can you remember Nithari case? How many NE girls were there? People have misconception that sex is an open thing and NE girls can agree with some initial no-no. Yes, there is increased trend of arrogance amongst the local boys also due to expansion of cities. But this problem can be solved in gentleman's way. Not by reacting in violent way or killing Biharis and speaking you Indians. Show your gentlemanship and the gentlemen of every region are with you. What you are facing is the common problem of we Indians.
RC commented that bengali babus had problem with the fans protesting. That is not correct assumption.
Firstly, people need to rise to the fact that protest is one thing, at the same time to take into account lives of others.
Secondly, there is no benagli domination per se in Siliguri or Darjeeling. Siliguri is one of the most multi-cultural centres in India, it abounds in Sikhs, marwaris, gurkhas, other nepalis, bhutiyas, bengalis( regular bengalis and the ethnic bengalis there) , all the communities in more or less equal measure. Nepalis move around as freely as bengalis do. Their marriages and other festivities take place as freely as possible.
What they had to protest was not against bengalis, but against some RADIO JOCKEY sitting somewhere else in the country. And not just Nepalis/Gurkhas, even ethnic bengali from the North bengal region would protest, if some generally-accepted Indian acted too prickly.

Siliguri is a gateway to North East. The demographic status is COSMOPOLITAN. There is no domination of a particular community. Basically it is a possitive town. Yesterdays incident was an abberation. A small altercation was hijacked by the hooligans and the senile adminstration let it go out of hand.
gurkhas shed blood for indians in indian army. poor gurkhas work as chowkidars. they get this job of utmost importance faith and trust over millions of my poor unemployed indian brothers shows the difference between the character of two communities.
