The movie ends on a happy note,which I think is not acceptable.How can a girl, who has lost everything,from morale to chastity....everything which she had,is shown happy and complete at the end?I mean it is spreading a wrong message to the society,especially to the youth,the feminine youth rather.May be at some stage many girls in our country would find it an easy way out to earn money and enjoy life(...why to worry there will be someone like abhishek to marry and moreover to respect like a devi....).Rani should have commited suicide at the end to justify the jeopardy.

I dont agree with Amit that Rani should have committed suiside at the end of the movie. Nor do i agree with Reena that its others who force women into prostitution. Its a choice of each individual as to what he/she wants to do. Dont u think men have financial crises they dont necessarily become prostitutes (even male prosts exist these days), or beggers or thieves. Its women who do it who are to be blamed for it not others Still i dont agree with suiside climax.

how rude of you to suggest that rani's character should have commited suicide. it is because of useless people like you that women in india are not allowed to come out of their stereotype roles.. people like you would also suggest that after a girl is raped, she should commit suicide, even though it is no fault of hers.

This is a film Amit. Anyone with a brain cell knows there are very few happy endings for women like that!
Why should Rani's character have committed suicide? Why not the people who bought her into the world and could not clothe and feed her and had expectations of her to provide for them.
The people who should commit suicide are the people who force women like Rani into prostitution.
And finally the people who should commit suicide are the MEN who go and visit these prostitutes.
The movie is as boring as it could be made. The bogus work of all departments of the movie making, except few of cinematography and camera work. No body is acting for the poor score script and the bakwas storyline. After movie, RAJA SEN can do u read ur own reviews or not. Where's ur review in above article. In major half of article u r talking other movies and then u r trying to annoy peoples from ur writing showing that u have not been paid by either Rediff or Yash raj's. You can take few pennies from me and learn reviewing. You posted two reviews on October 12, 2007 17:42 IST, it means you saw both movies on same day since morning and within 6 hours you saw both movies and wrote reviews.....it shows you have no thinking skills. you just write anything. Agar tum sochte ho tum fast-thinker ho to tum bewkoof ho..........agar itane hi fast hote to IIT, IIM ya IAS ka exam pas kar lete.......rediff pe reviews likh ke public se gali nahi khate. Get up man..........if u have anything inside u named like soul and self-respect.
After watching so many comedy movies in the last 3-4 months this one made me cry on several occassions. I know people don;t go for a movie to cry, but if you really want a good movie and not just entertainment, then go and watch this movie.
If you are a girl, a student, ready to take on the world with your dreams , then go and watch this movie, bcos Konakana has the right message for you in this movie. The difference between an educated and uneducated girl , is the moral behind it. Also the bitter truth of life and the struggle on lower middle class. Its a gr8 movie and one main thing which I would like to mention. Every charcter has done a superb acting !!
I just loved this movie. And for all those who like a classic movie, go and watch this. A must for every film lover who just not wants cheap comedy serial like movies.
Very Very nice movie. I would rate it 4.5 out of 5. This raja is insane bcos, he rated 1 to bhool bhulaiya and Laga too, means he is no where interested, nor in a comedy - thriller entertainer nor in a superb classic movie.
movie is good. this things still exists in indian villages. in spite of it boom, infosys and tcs has not been able to improve indian villages. only meotros have prospered. indian villages are still in dark and poverty. indian women still suffers. the movie is crude reality.
Seems the director was confused, whether he wants to justify the actions or the profession which the protagonist chose, as a result he ended up with nothing, neither was the justification of the actions convincing, nor the choice of profession
We have directors who are seemingly pathetic with the movie stuff and then we have Raja Sen who is a CYNIC and also a movie spoiler.... you buy tickets in BLACK ? That happens yet ? Are you still so rural to watch a movie in some Blackiya theatre... Rediff revenues have gone that LOW ? ? Sure, they MUST afford to fire you. Hey yeah, how abt that job of a Watchman outside the theatre, i am sure, you love the place.
