Agree with kp
by Ankur Sharma on Oct 14, 2007 12:05 PM

Actually I totally agree with kp. This piece of shit gives a wrong message. Do u think is prostitution the only job left for money. Rani for instance in this case, instead of watchin mujraas and singin songs like "hum to aise hain bhaiya" should hv been concentrating more on studying. U spoil yr childhood, u will land up in shit. Money is hard to earn and you need to work hard for it. If you want shortcuts then ya probably prostitution is the right job for you, but then dont blame society for it.

Laga is piece of shit and I totally agree with Raja Sen. Looks like Raja Sen is the only source of light to the future of meaningful indian cinema. Hands Down.

A movie for Losers
by kp kp on Oct 14, 2007 10:29 AM  | Hide replies

No matter how one sugercoats stink with good songs, dances, good acting and direction, it would still stink. With all the mega actors and good acting, the movie lacks character and basic decency. It chooses to make high drama out of horrible choices people make that lack moral direction and social responsibility. Sure, millions of people in India struggle daily with poverty and hardship, but they don't let themselves succomb to lure and shortcuts of prostitution and crime - they value life of dignity and honor - these are the people that should be held up as our heroes and their struggle a heroic victory for the society. In stead, Bollywood is busy gamorizing, humanizing, humorizing and heroizing gangsters, mobsters, terrorists, kidnappers, pornsters, hookers, bar-girls, item-girls, philanderers, prostitutes and general scums of the society. Seeking high drama and entertainment out of dysfunctions and gutters of India, all they have to do is to sprinkle it with skin show, clever situations and dialogues, and good acting. That is sick and pathetic if that what best of Bolywood has to offer. Laga Bollywood Mey Daag, is more like it.

Well said, kp. But I only patly agree with you. Look, imagine, why are these so-called 'pimps' florishing? Why are they bringing in more girls into the sex industry. Because, there ARE people in our society, even high strata ones, who are most likely to take pleasure from it.

these 'high-strata' people are the ones who built this junkyard...for their own pleasure. others who seek pleasure in this are idiots...

it was a nice movie and a reality which people they donn realise and infact its very easy to criticise something but very difficult to appreciate it this happens in the society and anyways gals are more sensitive than guys when it comes on takin responsibility and this is universal truth and no one can change this over all this movie was not crap infact its a must watch and when people can pay the ticket for real crap movies so atleast they should watch this movie which is a reality of life.

Dear Mr. Sen,
Would you be kind enough to draft your reviews in a simple to the point english. You dont have to impress anyone, so sticking to plain normal english should be fair and understandable to all readers alike. Hope you will make a mental note of it and we do hope to read your future reviews in good crisp simple english. Thank you.

this is very simple english , i appreciate the fact... very easy to understand....
but the frequent useof hindi words vexes me.

this is being very critical about the film,..
comparing is inevitable but we should stay away from it , rite?

"Laaga Chunari Mein Daag takes us back to a kind of cinema we thought we were done with. Indian cinema threw off the dupatta just a little while ago; let's not shackle it back down."
is it so???
let the feminists say......
