Hindi - Official Language - Not the only national Language
by on Jun 22, 2007 10:20 PM  | Hide replies

Guys,
In the below conversation one thing all seems to forget (or don't know) is that Hindi is only the official languagae of the central gov. If you are talking about the "national language", then India has 22 national languages including Hindi.
( See oor gov's website - http://india.gov.in/knowindia/india_at_a_glance.php)

Our forefathers when wrting the constitutions are very fully aware and respected others feeling and never forced people in accepting the language which are not familiar or distant to them. So they never forced Hindi to ppl in South or the East (like Assam) when they didn't wanted.
I think that is the best part of the our democracy that these things are not and should not be forced to ppl as languages and religions are ones own personal picking and he is fully free to select his languagae. We cannot simply unite people with languages. For a very fine example take our neighbouring Pak and Bangladesh. The main reason for their division was East pak forced Urdu into Bangladesh who were very proud of their own identity and language (even though they have the same religion).
Language should always be a person's choice and it should not be forced.

Ram

Hey Ram,
Your view is yours. But sounds absurd. When you travel fron north or east to south or vice versa, in a vast landed courtry like India, you definitely require a common language for communication. Definitely not forcibly but
one should understand it is a must for communication.
No hard feelings.
RWPe8Cheers & regards.

Rajni's Negative role

The worst of negative characters Rajni played is his role as the husband of sujatha deserted by her lover in Avarkal. The torture he gives her is the worst.

16 Vaiyathinilae and Moondru mudichu.
One surprise thing is he never acted as main villan. Only his character would be negative. He never carried guns or changed is hairstyle for looking like a villan

16 Vayathinile and Moondru Mudichu. Ilamai Oonjaladugiradhu too! If only he had continued more as an actor than a star, he would undoubtedly have been the greatest antagonist in Indian cinema.

Though Rajini has done many negative roles in his formative years in movies, all the negative roles had unbelievable style which a normal man may not do. But Avargal a film by K.Balachander casted Rajini a sadistic husband where he excelled and you can see every sadistic movements displayed with ease. Though the movie is not action based, you will love to kill the sadistic husand /ramesh hosur

Instead of spitting venom at each other we should be actually proud that our country is capable of producing so many talents. If there would have been no partition our cricket team today would have been unbeatable.India Pak (and now even Bangladesh has become good)Today we are nowhere.Same thing will happen to our other talents if we continue like this.
One way(entirely my opinion)is to speak the same language. As Hindi is widely accepted not a bad idea for everyone to speak it and accept it willingly.Atleast it will present something "common" among Indians.I know still lot of things are debatable but atleast it will break the language barrier.A beginning so to say

You are right.Doesnt really matter if 10 people from Andhra are more abroad or TN are more,or Gujrat or Punjab.Unless we come united, strong and speak a common language we will continue to get mocked forever.I am sure everyone would have experienced this.People abroad laugh at us.Everyone of us is busy poking fun at others and in the process pulling the image of country down.Lets speak Hindi(as it is already widely accepted), continue with our state languages in our houses and in our own small way help the country get a better image.Constructive suggestions welcome.Request:Please dont use abusive language in the response.

Right guys.Videsh mei rehke Indians se milke bhee khushi nahee hotee. Before starting a conversation always have a feeling what if the other person has some reservation speaking a particular language.English bolni padti hai apne desi Bhaiyo ke saath bhee. Not that English is bad or anything.I really dont mean to say that.Lekin fir desi se aur doosro se baat karne mei farak hee kyaa rahaa.achaa nahee lagtaa yaaro.hum sab apni hee bevakufiyo kee wajah se sikud ke reh gaye hai.We all are basically losers chahe koi bhee state se ho hum..but aisa hamesha continue nahee rehna chahiye doston.

I dont accept your logic of combining India, Pak and Bang to create a great cricket team. In India itself we have thousands of talents. We need to give chance to them. A man will be in his prime in 23-29 age, we should not carry the players who is not capable to deliver the goods, just because they played well in the past.

See our Hindi actors.Way to go man..Irrfan is acting with Angelina Jolie. Now do you know your "most famous actor"(haa haa) Rajni and other tamil actors.where do they stand compared to Hindi actors in terms of performance and talent.this is not an isloated case.Naseerudin Shah had acted with the legendary Sean Connery. And this is just the beginning.Plenty are still to come which will give you guys chance to get rid of false notion that you guys are the only talent of India.

Yes, we will always progress because we dont idolise our stars and make them GOD.We dont make them Chief Ministers only to find that they are also corrupt spending 100 crores in foster sons marriage. We have the guts to criticise Amitabh, Shahrukh, Salman,Abhishek, Hritik...infact anyone incase they dont perform.Even if they perform in a movie we praise them and leave it at that.Just not in a habit to blow trumpets like these Tamilians. These messages are to show them where they actually stand and its better for them to join the rest of India in propelling the nation go forward.

Dekho bhaai. If a person speaks Hindi which is a language spoken by most Indians toh isme nuksaan kyaa hai.Noone is asking him/her to forget his own native/regional language whether it is Tamil or any other language.Speak Hindi outside with others to develop bondings and speak your regional language in your home. But still if someone has so much hatred against the language which majority speaks then its fine.No problem. No offense to anyone before anyone starts jumping and sending abusive replies.

So you want us learn Hindi to speak outside Tamil Nadu? English and Hindi( as Mother tongue) speaking idiots thinks that they are speaking a global language and they expect every part of the world to speak(and reply) it. But its actually their learning inability of other languages. They are impotent to do new things expect what they got from their mom.

I dont know why hindi was made national language.
leave the south india. look at north
Punjab - punjabi
bengal - bengali
maharashtra - marathi
orissa - oriya
rajasthan - rajasthani
gujarat - gujarati
I think the only hindi speaking states were UP and MP. this was decided by the parliament members vote. In those days most of the parliment members are from UP. so Hindi got the majority.
Remember TN did not oppose hindi, it only protested that hindi should not be forced to learn.
Thats why TN encouraged English. Thanks to that decisison. If you go out of India u have to speak english.
That is the reason most of the software companies are in south.
I have only one question which is left unanswered. Even a begger who dont have education can survive in south india since he can speak hindi but even a well educated person should learn hindi to survive in north india. so the south indians should know an additional language to survive? what is this?....

i would like to share some language statistics according to 2004 survey. Telugu & Kannada is the 1st 2 widly spoken language, next hindi & then marathi & tamil in india.. in south india people are learning hindi as a 3rd language in metros & some towns at school level. even prachar hindi sabha is conducting exam for them in 9 different level..more than 1 lakh people passing per year.. they r getting all the hindi channel what north india seeing. as a marathi guy i know hindi very well. whenever i am going for south i am communicating in english. as for personal i am using hindi & i am getting reply..
some north indians r doing good business in chennai they know their language(tamil) those who r working in north india from south they all trying to speak hindi in short duration. Language problem is not our vision.. "India 2020 is our mission" think in that direction so this problem will solve in that time. This is started from Rajini's best negative role??? according me he is a good man, friendly & respected one. people r loving him.. he knows tamil, kannada, telugu, marathi, & hindi language & acted in all these languages
