Director Shankar has given many films on topics of interest and relevant to contemporary situations. Each of his film is remembered and cherished not only for its theme but also cinematic values.
Before leaving for Canada with his family for holidaying , Shankar gave an exclusive interview to the Tamil daily Dinakaran in which he talked about the making of 'Sivaji: the Boss', which is releasing on June 15 all over the world.
He prefaced the interview saying generally his films focus on matters of interest to the people. 'Sivaji' too is of this genre. The country is on the fast track of growth and development. 'Sivaji' is going to tell what is important and essential and what is needed to be done at this point in time for the country's development. The message is put across in an interesting and healthy manner.
He also elaborated on the usage of 3D graphics in the movie. "We have done what no one would have even imagined. 3D is there. There is also 24-layer compose (a scene shot 24 times is composed as a single shot.) The song 'Style' will be one of the highlights of the film. I doubt whether even Hollywood has ever done this. It's such a novelty. For this song, graphic work lasted one year. Entirely new software has been developed for this. 2K resolution is common, but in 'Sivaji' it is 4K resolution which gives the film stunningly high quality. We have done this for the first time in the country. There are many other graphics in the film which will surprise the audi

which will surprise the audience. These graphics are not used unnecessarily; they are used where required" said Shankar.
On Rajni's youthful look, Shankar explained how Rajni did regular workouts to keep his weight in check - not too heavy or too thin - 'He did what we expected of him to do in this regard. He would enquire about his fitness at least once in five days'.

Its also said that they did all these graphics and the 24 layer composition etc were doen to erase the wrinkles on Rajani's face and under the chin...surely no Hollywood movies will do all these to hide the oldman's age

The much-hyped Rajinikanth-starrer Sivaji The Boss, expected to be released on June 15, has one more specialty added to its credit - the movie's video quality. The Rs 60-crore project, claimed to be the biggest budget movie in India so far, is undergoing digital post-production now. It is said to be among the world's very few and India's first to undergo scanning at "4k resolution."
Mohan Krishnan, head, corporate communications, Prasad Group, said, as against the standard "2k resolution", 4k offers "a very high quality image," which would be closest to that of an original negative. However, this process takes more than four times the time, money and effort to grade the data, he added.

The process is tedious because 4k is stored on files that are four times bigger, which have to be worked on and recorded back at the same resolution, he said. Prasad EFX is doing digital post-production for Sivaji.
Under the standard process, colour grading alone, which is a part of the digital intermediate process, can cost Rs 15 lakh, Mohan said.
Once the film shoot is completed, the 35mm or 16mm original camera negative (OCN) has to be converted (scanned) to a digital format, called the digital negative. The negative is then graded as a digital intermediate for further processing.
The scanner or "datacine" captures each pixel in the film into a digital image, normally at a 2k resolution. 2k means each 35mm frame is 2048 pixels wide by 1556 pixels tall

Obviously, you have the facts wrong Bhaskaran-- Northern ppl are business men in Canada and UK-- real enterprenuers, not cleaners!!Being a cleaner is a job that Southies happily do in Singapore and combined with the attitude they have!!fully faltoo!

france,uk,america, wherever you go in the west u can find the foolish sardar driving the cab. most of the tech engineers who work in usa are southindians
NO OF STUDENTS going for higher studies in usa are from south .hyderabad tops the list.no better proof needed to prove that sardars are indeed fools as northerners often associate sardars with jokes(sardarji jokes)

Better than cleaners-- A cabbie in NewYork earns more than a Lungi Software Engg and much more than a Cleaner in Singapore.
Can Kannada be used in high courts....NO. Hindi can be used in the high courts. Kannada provides no use for anyone, and would be good if they all learn Hindi.

South ROCKS. It is shame to compare South India with North India. Try to compare South India with North America. Then it will make more sense. Compare South Somalia with North India. It is so parthetic at Northern states.
