Rediff review may be biased, Cant believe review of sify either. they host the website of kireedom.. That will be the most biased review.
This must be a watchable movie, all other reviews say so.
The reviewer should stop comparisons. The director has only taken the basic plot of kireedom. He then adder 4 more songs a heroine presence and hero threateing gunda!(kireedom had the hero fearing the gunda, if i remmeber correctly).
This is like priyan movies. Borrow basic plot of a good movie (cuckoo's nest, while you where sleeping,.. ) and make it suitable for the regional audience. Here it was tamil, so lot of masala fitted in

Mr Suresh S, even though i am not defending tamil film industry, the way u project kollywood is wrong. The basic thing is u & ur friends may not have seen all the movies. And probably one of the victim of that SIVAJI Tsunami. No wonder. Rajni movies were never over hyped. These days because of the media, it went a bit high. If u look back in 1980's it is the same story(First day First show). Nobody from the crew made any hype as against JBJ, (for a month there was a program on that). May be Malayam movies be good. We dont know abt ur film industry. so i can't comment. A movie industry meant to give diverse range of films and what u r looking at is important. I can't name malayam ind. as bad based on shakeela movies. That would show how bad i am in judgement. As far as ur argument, yes produce masala movies. of course everybody does that. If ur attitude is good, u should have compared ur movies with ,probably, hollywood/korean industry (as per u, tamil industry/tamilians are bad/low level). If Mullai Periyar issue makes u angry, i could understand that this might be the place for u to show ur feelings. Finally, Keep ur comments with the film industry. In my opinion, this review is a very biased one. May be a result of the author (I do not want to call him a 'critic' and bring disrepute to the word) being denied a free ticket for the preview show. Or may be because the author is a fan(atic) of another actor (Whole of Tamil film buffs knows whom I'm refering to) who, at every opportunity, locks horn with Ajith.
It is better Rediff's editor choses his so called 'reviewers' with care in order to establish a good name for its site.

I'm neither a fan of Ajith nor a fan of Vijay, but just a fan of good cinema. And when someone who is so biased against a movie because the movie's hero is a competitor to the so called 'critic's' favourite actor, then I guess, not only me but any one who appreciates good efforts in Movie world should show their displeasure.

last five years, well i l give u some good movies.. it is very good for me.. i mean. 1. Classmates 2 achuvinte amma 3. keerthichakra 4. udhayananutharam(if u enjoy comedy. this was thought provoking as well) 5. arabhikatha
and many more. malayalam movies though are becoming more and more start valued with a lot of MM(mohanlal mammoty) movies coming and going. and dileep dishing out crap most of the time.
but it is still far better than most other industires where realism has far been overtaken by so called mass requirements.
Guys....I agree Malayalam movies are far ahaed in substance, but when? Those days are gone. In last 5 years ( except some art films like Tanmatra, Achan urangatha veedu..) can you guys mention one classic movie? Don't just keep barking your history. Today Malayalam movies are trying to imitate tamil movies with bullshit fight sequences and irritating dance movements. Can any Malayalee here object this? Also watch any stage programs in kerala, you will see only Tamil & Hindi songs & dances than malayalam. So those days are gone when malayalam movies had substance.

vijay is worst actor who is copycat all his hit films are remake for telugu & malayalam [friends,kathaluku mariyathe[aniyathipravu],pokkiri,gilli all are remakes .
I think the Author should be a Mallu. When I was talking to my tamil friends who never saw the malayalam version, they say the movie is good. Even in many blog sites the results are positive (Even in Sify). I don't expect or need a comparison report from the author.

Raghunath is a serious challenger to Senthil, Goundamani etc for the post of Best Tamil Comedian.
