Tamil Nadu had reported 52,036 AIDS cases to NACO by July 2005, which is by far the highest number of any states. This shows the sexual anrachy prevailing there. A recent survey taken by the German Leprosy Relief Association showed that the Leprosy prevalence rate in TN is the highest in India. A true picture of Tamil hygene.

Mannar Mathai Speaking" - Copied from Hitchcock's "Vertigo" Boeing Boeing - Boeing Boeing, Talavattom- One flew over the cuckoo's nest Nirnayam - The Fugitive Kakkakuyil- loosely A Fish Called Wanda Ayushkalam -The Ghost Life is beautiful - Dead poet's society

i agree priyan's movies are "inspired" from hollywoord. SO Boeing, Talavattom, Kakkakuyil are indianised copies.
But Vertigo adn Dead poet society are not copied into malayalam. Mannar is a nonsense comedy which cnanot be compared to vertigo. Dead poet society is a boring movie about students in school. Life is beautiful is about relationship between mohanlal, wife and her sis. It has lal teaching students in a different manner, doesnt mean its a rip off from DPS movie.

We are remaking international classics - because we have an audience that appreciates such work.
You guys are remaking our left-overs, adding masala and unwanted 'song-dances' to it and trying to sell.
Mirror, mirror on the wall, who is the best of them all?
RE:plagiarism and malayalam cinema
by INDIAN on Jul 24, 2007 02:10 PM
remake is when you acknowledge it and give due credit to original director/writer. In all above mentioned case - it is COPY. That is why I asked you to take an Oxford dictionary. Check meaning of "plagiarism" first.

When was credit given to the original writer of Chandramukhi? You guys ever heard of Madhu Muttom? Also a hit song from the same film was a direct copy of a Malayalam country song by a hapless musician.
Stop your hypocrisy and accept you are hard-pressed for originality.

i never told that Tamils won't copy. They do. Everyone does but it is not correct. what is wrong is WRONG. I just wanted to make Mallus aware that even they copy.

Hi Indian, You are right. Nobody said that all Malayalam film are original. Particularly in a country like ours were there are no strict laws on plagiarism, the mindset is to copy and remain silent. But the fact is that Kerala has come up with a number of original and thought provoking movies. The films that you have mentioned are considered to be just masala flicks in Kerala and are not at all taken seriously. The classics that people cherish in their hearts and take pride of are still very original.
