Guys, Does this look good on our part to call our own country people by names?? We are all one country and dont make any splits in the name of states. We are all united by One Flag, One anthem. Please stop this for Heaven's sake..

Keralites don't need Shakeela to screw up politics. They got the Congress and Communists for that.

Tell me why?
by Walter Vetrivel on Jul 23, 2007 06:04 PM  | Hide replies

Though I'm not a mallu, I feel that mallu movies are way ahead in terms of substance and treatment than Tamil movies. Tamil movies are loud, hyperbolic, melodramatic etc. Even the song and dance sequencs are overdone. They just go overboard in anything they do. The Tamil audiences don't appreciate subtlety. They need a loads of sentiment, emotion, melodrama, dialogs as strong as rocket fuel, and 1 buck 2 buck overaction.(It means if an actor is given 1 buck, he will act for 2 bucks instead) for a film to digest. Mallu movies are very pleasing to the elite. Now some guys will start naming films like Mozhi. What I mean is the percentage of classy movies is microminimal in Tamil. And the percentage of loud, overacted movies is micrminimal in Malayalam. Neighbouring states, but I wonder why they's so much stark dissimilarity in taste.

Good exists in Tamil. But not welcome.
by Arun Prasanna on Jul 23, 2007 05:05 PM  | Hide replies

Am from Tamilnadu, and i always find it difficult to digest when a Masala Movie like Sivaji becomes a superhit (whatever expensive it was, seriously that movie is not worth the weight) and a Good Kamalhaasan Movie like Hey ram, Anbe Sivam and many more doesnt wanna do well. They dont appreciate hardwork and difference, but still Quality does exist in all areas in Tamil Industry. Eg:- Mani Rathnam, Illayaraja, Rehman and the one and only Kamal Haasan. Plus there are lots of great behind the screen technicians.. and artistes. These guys (distributors) dont want quality. They want money. Thats why they spoilt a good actor vikram, to a masala actor. Surya, Madhavan & even Kamalhaasan are not just stars they are good ACTORS. Rajini is a Star.. Super Star. Is he a actor?

Kireedam-original
by Mukesh on Jul 23, 2007 04:52 PM

I don't think any remake of a classic can excel the original. As I previously mentioned Ajith's 'kireedam' can be just another movie, no comparison arises with the original malayalam flick 'kireedam'. So I am not surprised with this article.
Anyway one should appreciate Ajith's attempt and try to encourage him to do such kind of roles also. But I don't think the general audience of Tamil will tolerate such kind of stories now a days

A small feedback on the review
by karthik subramanian on Jul 23, 2007 04:29 PM

Dear T S V Hari,

Review was very good. I would really like to appreciate you on your English.
It would be easuier for all readers if the usage of words are more subtle and simple.
I found it very difficult especially to understand many sentences in this review. I would apprciate more if the review is simple and more easier to understand.

The highest literacy rate ensures that there won't be any takers for cheap movies in Kerala.
Thats why shakeela movie are doing good business in kerala and the so called superstars compelled her to stay away from kerala.
Did we asked to see any tamil film or we complained about any mallu movies. Then y the hell u interfere in our business.

Kerala is first state in the country to produce porn movies and everyone knows that.IT is due to the high literacy rate prevailing there.
Kerala oldies liking western porn movies where girls are slim.Suresh u have gr8 sense of humor. It is a like mallu moviw with a cheap comedy.
