Trust me, even today Bareilly's Bazaars are more popular than Delhi's Chandni Chowk, thanks to Nayyar Sahib. The genius, O P Nayyar had his own unique sense of music that was catchy, melodious and suited to all styles. Hats off to the man. We pray for his soul to rest in peace.
28th January is a sad day in the Music History of India as we lost A KING of MUSIC whose tunes forced everyone to tap their feet. His compositions would be remembered for a long time. The remix albums of his popular songs that were released in the past two years further made his music IMMORTAL .O P You will continue to rule our hearts for time to come
I mourn his death and yes, Film Ind has lost a stalwart in his own style. The genious in himself was seen when he composed the music without a song sang by great Lataji. He showed that he can compose songs where Great Lataji have no place and still he succeded and that too in a big way and that is GENIOUS.And the anamoly was that he didn't know the Shastriya Ragas at all.Wow! Well, to the best of my knowledge , Jumkha Gira ray was a song from Mera Saya and if I don't forget then the Music composer was Madan Mohanji. Will, the rediff check it and rectify it if it is wrong?
the sad demise of op saab is really a nasty blow for all music lovers...his work is like a beacon for the generation of ours who knows himesh reshmia as a music composer !! OP saab portrayed perfectly the beauty of ultimate folk songs and nitched a carve for his own . his TONGA MUSIC will always remind us the golden era of bollywood music...hats off to him ...may the almighty rest his soul in peace.
There will not be any other composer with such original style in this world. It is a pity that he has not been in the limelight for over about 20 years. His being alive was a great feeling to all of us since we can be proud to be living as contemporaries to such greats. May his soul rest in peace. N V Krishnan, Mulund,Mumbai
