The news is truly saddening. One more link to the glorious 'Golden age of HFM' is gone. RIP OP Saab. And he is not the MD for "Jhumka Gira Re". The least your reporter can do is some due diligence.

Nor is he MD of Andaz Apna Apna. At least the reporter could have been right about this 90s film.

Agreed he is not the MD of "Andaz Apna Apna", but he did compose one of the songs for that film. Please get your facts right too.
He was instrumental in glorifying the traditional Punjabi music not only that he created some most memorable tunes for all times. Any music lover's library is incomplete without his composition's. Regretfully his stubbornness marginalised his achievements and moved him to pursue other profession for living in his last days. Nevertheless he was one of the greatest in all time to come.
A legend has passed away, an era has ended, what a composer,I think the last of the golden era of Indian film scene. May his songs live on and may his spirit and soul be in peace forever. Sharad Jain
We are personally very shocked to heard that the great musician O. P. Nair left us. We liked his music most our heart. May God give peace to the departed great soul!
I am a obscessed fan of O.P. Nayyar, according to me he is the best and the greatest music composer of Hindi film industry. Asha bhonsle whatever is today, is only due to this rythm king. At least after his death Asha should add few good words to Mr. O.P. Nayyar. May his soul rest in peace. His music lives for generations. Prabhu
Rhythem King is no more but Rhythem remains immortal. May His Soul rest in Peach and Tranquility. My hearty condolences to the bereaved family members of the illustrious son of the music universe.
