You can take a Malayali out of Kerala, but you can never take Kerala out of the Malayali.
Passport hai Amriki, Dil hai hindustani, rug rug mein doudta lahu ka har boond - woh hai Malayali.
Hamare dil me Keral ke liye aseem sneh, dakshin bharat ke prati aasta or Hindustan ke prati samman hai.
Jab bhi hum FOKANA (Federation of Kairali Association of North America) ke meeting mein jaate hein to bakeida keralite lungi aur sandal pehenke jaaten hai - aur bade fakar se. Kabhi kabhi Mall ya Walmart jate hein to bhi bilkul Malayali andaaz mein.
I miss India a lot, but my soul craves the sights, sounds, smells of Kerala, her people, house boats, the rippling emerald backwaters, and beautiful coconut palms sashaying shyly into the wind. The sight of smartly groomed people, in fresh clean clothes, and kids happily going to school - quintessential Kerala! Its truly God's own country. There is so much hope and happiness in the air. I miss watching those lovely meaninful Mohanlal / Mammooty movies with friends in Kerala. Watching them on DVD here isnt quite the same.
And no, I have not lived in North India, except on business visits / tour. But I have travelled extensively all across North India and the forgotten jewel - Seven sisters of the North East that I admire more than North India.
The vanity plate of my car says "KERALITE". There is a tri-color painted on my car door.
I feel very malayali within, even though the passport is American.

Do you know that since Independence Kerala has received the lowest Central government allocation of funds among all major states - even Orissa has received more financial support from the Centre.
Do you know that all 4 south Indian states figure in the list of developed states. Where as all the 4 predominantly Hindi speaking states figure in the backward list. So langauge speaking / Hindi bhashan baji doesnt necessarily translate to development I gather.

You seem to be quite sensible person. I am astonished that you are actually fighting this North Vs South War. Don't we have enough threats from outside (China, Pakistan etc.). Shall we not unite and fight against those enemies. Well u really seems to be not bothered about that. This is an appeal to all of people out there. Please stop this war of words. Lets be united and one India.
Yet again i plead rediff to put an end to all this crap....You put a start to a tussle by asking for readers to comment and what ultimately happens is a long cold war sayin whos better Bollywood or south india dada or dravid, what are we going to gain if amitabh becomes the president or if shahrukh earns more than AB or if dada becomes the captain again...it would benefit us if petrol prices becomes lesser by Rs.10 or if multiplex tickets are offered at Rs.50 or if cost of essential commodities cost 50% less nothing of this is bound to happen...its better if we avoid such baseless thrashing on each other...readers/viewers please wake up...

I read ur message but i think its media which is hyping this issue more than waht it actually is between these two actors.They are actors,there work is to do best but everytime and then media peers for the answers relating to the opponent actor and make it an issue.They are both fine actors and i think they know there responsibility
