Its a pity on Indian Media.
by Gmail Rediffmail on Feb 08, 2007 10:59 PM  | Hide replies

Why Media is making news.

If Amar Singh has money to buy a car, he can buy and keep in Mumbai for Abhishek.
Even He can buy a ship and park it in sea near mumbai to let abhishek & ash enjoy their weekends.

I totally agree with Amar singh on that.

But being amar singh a social worker, I do not expect this such things from Amar Singh, He should really lookafter for UP, He should really visits UP more ofthen than Mumbai, so that tommorrow he can keep UPians happy than Abhishek & Ash. After wall this is all UPians who has elected thoer party, not the Amitabh/Abhishe/Aishwarya.

I am still positive, he will look back to UP as soon as elections comes.

Mr. Gmail Rediffmail,
The point is from where did he get that money.Do you think politicians with their salary can buy a car to someone else, that too a car that costs 2.5 crore.

Garima your right,we need to grow up.So according to you,we must ignore what amar singh is doing.Shouldn't we find out how a politician with a small salary gifts a 2.5 crore car to someone else. The media is trying to ring it to our notice, and you want to close your eyes and say we are not bothered.

It does make a difference to every Indian citizen to know where their politicians get the money from and if they are paying the tax like everyone else (presumably you as well)

If a car is a gift, a gift-tax needs to be paid while transferring registration.

I think Media is doing a good job being the watch dogs tax-paying tendencies of politicians and celebrities. Next time a politician or a celebrity wants to evade tax on his luxury car or plane or yatch, he will think a hundred

does rediff has any other business?
by Shivam Mishra on Feb 08, 2007 10:53 PM  | Hide replies

Do you have any other business epart form just focussing on the glits and glam society of B'Bay?
Could u write about the state of pple post godhra riots or about the fake encounters in J&k or nithari killings?
that would be more sensible.

Income tax evasion is a criminal offence; giving a wrong address whlie importing a luxury car is a criminal offence.
Media is reporting the criminal offences of Indian "samajvadi" politicians and celebrities.
Nothing wrong with this report!

Useless news
by Manoj K on Feb 08, 2007 10:53 PM

I fail to understand why media is poking their nose in someone else affair. They have gone mentally bankrupt which is evident from the quality of news and other TV programmes.

If Abhishek Bachan is driving an imported car then whats wrong. He earned the money from his work. Who are these media people to ask his income source or who bought the car?? Let IT department do their job.

Gifts mandate a gift-tax. Otherwise it is a criminal offence.
Media has a duty to report these tax-evasions by celebrities
Good job media! Next time a politician wants to evade tax, he will think a 100 times!!

Dear friend

If both are closely associated , we should not poke our nose in thier affairs. They are equally responsible people who will never go beyond their limitations.

Why people make fuss out of it.

One thing it is always unclear to me . Such a legend like Big B keeping a friend like Amar Singh who always like to be in media & always embrass Big B & its family for one reason to another . I humbly request Big B to keep Distance from this guy without any further delay .U r one of the most respected person in the universe & let it not encashed it by selfish politician like Amar Singh . This is my personal opinion . Kindly take it sportingly.

Thanks & regards

Loosing respect for Amitabh
by Angana SenPan on Feb 08, 2007 10:43 PM  | Hide replies

I was a huge fan of Amitabh bachchan...still I'm. But I am loosing respect for him. He is always in different kinds of tax scandal, other problems, his strategic movemnt of announcing Ash-Abhi engagment, fighting with SRK god knows. Just don't like the person anymore. 50 percent of people in India don't get to eat two times a day and look at them! We all should be ashemed of themselves.

Don't you eat three times a day and buy whatever you want to. Prob 75% of people in India don't have access to Internet. Why do you want to surf...

Just leave them alone (including rediff)

Have you ever heard of the phrase "if you live by the sword, you die by the sword". This applies to the Bachchans' as much as to anyone else and personally they sicken me.
Just because a person points out a fault does that make them also guilty. Have you not heard about "social comment".
These media people don't dream things up. Most times there is more than a little truth to their reports.
You must be crazy if you think that the Bachchans' are not revelling in this spotlight. Of course they would wish it to be a positive spotlight all th time, but luckily for us this is not always the case.
To those of you who complain that haven't the press got better things to write about, I say this site has other sections apart from the Movies one.

If a celebrity wants to buy a car for his son, why should we be ashamed of him? What you have written does not make any sense.
He has the right to announce his son's engagement when he wants.
So instead of blabbering, why dont you make better use of your time.

Can I ask you what your contribution is for the downtrodden and poor sections of the society (except giving some moneys to baggers)...no I don't have a right to ask these things to you as its your personal affair. So please dont worry if Amitabh is not doing anything..
For the news channels...these 24 hours news channels should be banned..
