These are cars that super rich people can afford, if they want. Why should we worry about it as long as they dont snatch money from us. It is the fault of our political system if someone feels that Amar Singh is looting public. We cant blame him alone for that. As voters we have a major role in electing them. Alternatively, f there is a demand, we should think of assembling such cars in India and give jobs to people. Also, it is good to hear that govt gained 30 lakhs as duty due to the wild fancies of super rich. The govt can think of charity measures...

It is not their hard earned money, it is the hard earned money of millions, who wasted their income to watch 'Bachchan' movies, that made a lay person a 'Superstar' and made him in a position to buy a 'Bentley', so he is answerable to the people, who's money he is spending, not his money.

nirmal..whose money you are earning? you have no idea what you are talking about.Your boss is paying you so does that mean it is boss's money,so you are answerable to him on how you spend your money? Or if you are a government servant then you are answerable to public? grow up,learn some economics.Anyway who asked people to spend money on Bachchan? It was for entertaintment that people watch movies. He is in entertaintment business, that's his proffesion and whatever he has earned is his hard earned money.Govenment is answerable for useage of public money and not a citizen for his personal wealth.

Many people are commenting on Bachchan's or Singh's income and that they should spend their money for poor etc. Pls. understand first of all it's their earned money and they have every right to spend as they want, nobody can force them on how to spend their own money.Secondly weather or not they spend for charity deeds is not known by us,it's possible that they do charity but media does'nt know about it.They does'nt need to show their charity works( even if they show, people will say it's a publicity stunt ).Finally if they pay their taxes then they are doing their bit for the society as the tax money is for people.( how many people from us like to pay taxes??).SO lets not get into all this.Amitabh deserves what he gets and so is applicable to all.

2.5 crores and big deal ?
by biz Narayan on Feb 09, 2007 01:31 PM  | Hide replies

If some of our are friends are new to job, then I confess myself to be super rich by standards of Bajaj - I have a car !

I think it is a wastage of money to buy bentley. I think it is a wastage of money to buy a corolla- It looks perfect only for CEOs and big people and big cities. It looked okay to own it while I was in US.

however It is perfectly fine for Bachan to use a couple of bentleys. They have far lot more money, some of the people who post here about poverty are sycophants. They wasted all their life in watching movies, so that they never found out how much extra money is out there. Couple of lakhs in infosys share in 2000 would give you crores today.

No body said a bad thing about bachan when he seemed to be fine with that much maligned hoax- secularism. It is nice to find out that even people who do business by selling sympathy to downtrodden make good profit. All the best to those who think 2.5 crores is big deal.

This is so screwd up topic to be made headlines !!!!
Why are people reading about these politicians and bachhan family so much??? are they so important to us????
These actors get paid extravagantly and instead of spending it on poor people to remove poverty they are buying cars and bunglows...
This is a request to Mr Amitabh n his brother Amar singh... do some goodwill to the society... theres much more to do then act in stupid films and attending high society parties...

Thnx...

DId you expect Amitabh to gift a cycle to abhishek??? It is because of his acting and the humble way in which he has carried himself all these years, that he has achieved the status of a super star today. He has entertained us for so many decades, so why should we be critical of things he does in his personal life? Just because the media doesnt report his charity works, it doesnt mean he does not donate to the needy. Lastly, if you were in his shoes, you too would have done the same thing for ur son. Amitabh has a status symbol, and he is expected to live up to it.

We are not blaming the Bachans or anybody for buying an expensive car. Their money. They can spend it whatever way they like.

But when a political leader of a party claiming to represent the downtrodden in one of the poorest states in India flauts money to buy one of the most expensive cars so that his friends's son can use it, we have the right to crib about it.

Its all black money. I want to know if he made this money by screwing the poor people in UP.

Not at all. I am perfectly okay with Ratn Tata, Narayana murthy or even Amitabh buying the car. And thats because I know their source of income.

This Amr singh guy is a freaking POLITICIAN of a party claiming to REPRESENT THE DOWNTRODDEN in one of India's POOREST states. I am just curious as to HOW HE GOT THIS MUCH MONEY. There, I have capitalized the keywords so that your brain has less trouble understanding it.

Nope. You are weak in English, I think. The only point I raised was that a politician representing poor people in a poor state cannot have this much money unless something was going on. Where did he get the money from? Plus it is not morally correct to represent poor people when driving aroung in a Bentley.
