I have not seen the movie and I do not like or dislike a movie based on Raja Sen's review. Because he is a CERTIFIED IDIOT who does not possess even an iota of intellect, knowledge or analytical skill to be a critic. It PAINS me to see people putting hime in the same league with Baradwaj Rangan --- it's a disservice and inslut for BRangan, I think.
Here is what I earnetly wish Mr Raja Sen - Rediff giving you the boot!!!
There are two types of moviegoers- one who go to movies for pure timepass and fast pased entertainment and the second kind who can tolerate a slower more intense film also if the story is well told. I think I fall in the second category so found the film exremely intersting. The story did not lose it's grip on me even once. Infact there were so many layers to the characters that if i watch it again , I'll surely discover more subtleties. Why Shiney's character behaves the way it does and is still not a negative character, why rajat kappor's character is a negative character and yet it's difficult to hate him- the director layers his story and character with memorable scences and dialogues. Nothing in the film is black and white and I don't agree with people who say that it is on meena kumari's character. there is part madhubala, part meena kumari in soha's charachter and part gurudutt and part Raj kapoor in Shiney's character.And I'm sure few more people whose stories I don't know of . With due respect to people who did not like the movie every movie does not have to be jab we met. If director's did not attempt slower subjects ,we would have never had a Kagaaz ke phool or a Mera Naam Joker. I am not saying that this movie compares to those two classics but it certainly falls in that genre. In fact I didn't think the movie was slow . infact my compalin against the movie in the first half was that the editing was too brisk. It needed to linger in some scences. My Verdict:
Either you have it in you to appreciate the movie or you don't. (remember lycra ad. ?)
Ask your girl friend to watch the movie. If she likes the movie and you also like it , then you guys are compatible or else you better break up. You know that wavelength matching stuff.
This is a WOW movie , simply loved it.

Beautiful movie , go watch it .I am going to watch it again.
Reading a review should never be more taxing than watching the movie itself. While you take your job a little too seriously, please mind that the average reader is not here to appreciate your mastery of the language. Cut to the chase and tell me how the damn movie is. A few things you could stop to make the world a better place. Stop being Verbose - Brief and crisp is just fine (Take Communication Skills Lessons. We'll pay) Stop being a showoff - Have enough of those to deal with. Please take this seriously. I registered with the damn site just so I could post this msg. Will keep repeating the same in your reviews until you pay attention
