I'm from the States and saw the movie this weekend - I totally disagree with these "critics." It was not a serious movie, but reminded me a lot of Banti and Babli. It was very well acted by the whole cast did a great job. It was a funny, light-hearted movie for the whole family and Madhuri did a sensational job in the next stage of her career. It's too bad most desis are too narrow-minded to take advantage of a sensational, beautiful actress just because she is 40, and even more stupid that rediff which is supposed to be a leader in news, posts ridiculous, subjective commentaries to sabotage the careers of hard-working actors.
I agree with most of the critics that the movie was totally boring and the script was bad plus the movie was very predictable. But the only reason that I stayed in the theatre for 2 to three hours was Madhuri. She was absolutely great and amazing. Although the movie wasn't good, but it was better than other 3 yashraj crappy flops (laaga chunari mein daag which was one painful torture, Jhoombjhoom again a big boredom, and I don%u2019t even want to talk about Tara Rum Pum (awful). But this does NOT MEAN Aaja Nachle was good. Overall, I believe that Madhuri will definitely get a nomination.

may be you should go see OSO and other peices of shit like partner and hey baby. this movie totally rocked it. Madhuri was phenomenol. why dont you try even replicating one percent of those dances she has performed in this movie. i bet you wont be able to even perform that much.
only yashraj films, any SRK, any Bhansali movies no matter how worse they are with some exceptions. The other day I watched 'Johnny - Gaddar', what a great movie. Superb direction, screenplay, editing, great acting. Unfortunately had to watch on DVD, since many good films do not have distributor like the above mentioned big banner movies. Now they have released another yash raj movie Aaja nachale. Going by the public reactions below, looks like not a worthwile movie.

I agree 'Johnny - Gaddar' was excellent, people watch it on DVD if you get a chance. Manorama Six feet under was good too, dragged on at the end but a good unique movie. Enough of the Yash Raj crap and the same old tired actors they use in every movie.
So granny's movie did not run..notwithstanding the ridiculous interviews and the irritiating accent.. MF Husein can now see the movie, in the theatre, alone...:)

atleast she has an accent after staying for 6 years in US, not like ru desi aishwarya rais or bipashas who try to speak like americans or british even staying in good ol india. of course, u don't have brains to make the distinction between decent human being and much better actresses like madhuri and hyped up divas like bipasha!!!!!
Madhuri acted in such vulgar cheap roles (Dayavan, Tezaab, Zindagi Ek Juaa, Khalnayak). Tabu can eat Madhuri alive in both acting and looks. Madhuri can never accomplish what Tabu accomplished in Chandni Bar, Astitva, Maqbool, and The Namesake. Remember Karishma Kapoor (a brilliant actress) completely overshadowed Madhuri in Dil To Pagal Hai.

Madhuri is totally finished. Aaja Nachle couldn't even get a decent initial. Madhuri will now have to act in Ekta Kapoor's serials. Everyone knows Karishma Kapoor was a bigger star than Madhuri and a better actress as well.

Remember those disgusting roles that Karisma did for at least 4-5 years, and remember how irritating she was. So if you can name like three or four movies of Tabu and Karsima and claim that they are the best actresses then I can also name a few movies of Madhuri. Here goes the list: Ram Lakhan, Parinda,Prem Pratigyaa, Kishen Kanhaiya , Dil, Sailaab , Saajan, Beta,Hum Aapke Hain Koun...!, Anjaam, Raja, The Death Sentence: Mrityu Dand, Koyla, Dil To Pagal Hai, Pukar, Lajja, Devdas, Aaja Nachle. Don%u2019t forget Madhuri has also gotten 13 Filmfare nominations and in which she has won 5. So I rest my case.

Madhuri was in Parinda just for the cheap sex scene. Koyla was a Z-grade disgusting film in which a 65-year old Amrish Puri raped Madhuri. Mrityudand was a disaster. Ram Lakhan belonged to Anil and Jackie; Madhuri was a wooden prop in it. Madhuri was vulgar in Beta. Filmfare Awards don't mean anything, they are bought. When Dil To Pagal Hai released, Madhuri's market value was at an all-time low. She was coming off all-time disasters like Koyla, Yaraana, Prem Granth, Mohabbat, Mahaanta, and so many others! Karishma was coming off blockbusters and super hits like Judwaa, Raja Hindustani, Jeet, Hero No. 1 and others. All of Dil To Pagal Hai's marketing and promotion was centered around Karishma (and SRK) and Madhuri was left out of the publicity campaign. Everyone went to see the film because of Karishma, not Madhuri. Karishma won the National Award (the only real awards) for Dil To Pagal Hai.
Just because Chak de India worked which was based on saving the team, then we had Goal with the theme of saving the stadium, now we have AAja Nachle where they want to save the theatre. Let us hire some creative writers who can come up with better scripts so that we will not waste the talent of very talented actress like Madhuri Dixit and Konkana Sen.
I loved the movie! It was one of the better ones this year and miles better than OSO. Everyone acted superbly, lifting the story, screenplay and songs above average.
