It is the media which creates false Hit, Super hit and flops.

Can Mr. Syed Firdaus Ashraf explain what was so great in Om Shanti Om??

It was an stupid punarjaman story which was sold by Mr Khan and Mrs Khan.

The storyline and screen play PLUS the over acting of Mr Sharukh kahn was simply stupid. I was amazed the way Shahrukh Khan played 'A south Indian stars role in OSO...

Aaja Nach le is 10 times better then OSO....

MADhuri

I watched the movie with much less expectation...and i really liked the movie...it was a better come back movie than Kajol in Fanaa...Madhuri was fantabulous...her dancing is just awesome...though the music could have been better...i really liked the climax...it would have been great if madhuri played the laila role and she roped Akshay khanna to play the majnu role...she should have danced for the full length of climax song...Irfan was gr8...i hope Madhuri continues to act..she is in need of a good director and music director...unfortunately there is a dreath of these two in the industry now...

she knows how to dance, act, and how to carry herself within four people. No other actress can resemble madhuri. she totally rules all of them. even at 42 she looks like 22.

Nice movie to watch
by on Dec 04, 2007 01:03 AM

Really a nice movie to watch... good storyline... excellent finishing... and outstanding performance by Madhuri.. I don't know from which school that critics came, they give OSO (low average movie) a 4* and this movie a 2*. Just brainless idiot.

Madhuri is totally overrated
by Vishal on Dec 04, 2007 12:40 AM  | Hide replies

Madhuri acted in such trashy roles (Dayavan, Tezaab, Beta and others). Karishma Kapoor was a much better actress than Madhuri. Karishma completely ate Madhuri alive in Dil To Pagal Hai. Karishma won a National Award (the only real awards) for Dil To Pagal Hai. Madhuri herself knew that Karishma's performance was much better which is why Madhuri refused to act in Hum Saath Saath Hain with Karishma and Madhuri's role was played by Tabu. Madhuri can never accomplish what Karishma accomplished in Fiza, Zubeidaa, and Shakti. Karishma was the real Box Office Queen - Hero No. 1, Dil To Pagal Hai, Jeet, Raja Hindustani, Coolie No. 1, Judwaa, Haseena Maan Jayegi, Biwi No. 1, Hum Saath Saath Hain, Raja Babu were all blockbusters or super hits.
The fact that Aaja Nachle flopped so early proves that Madhuri was totally overrated.

keep it up loser...I just happen to see your exactly similar ill-intentioned message on Aishwarya news (toronto airport) page also and I was foreces to write this reply. In fact i don't care about what people write on message boards just thought let me realize you your level so that I you will do something constructive in life in future.

Have you ever done anything significant in life before you decided to comment on successful and rich people? Not that if you have done something that means you can comment but still look inside you first and then throw mud on people. You are not even eligible to work as Aishwarya's or Madhuri's chauffeur. This is nothing but pure jelousy and hatred, also, the frustration about self value and inferiority complex.

So please get life and stop throwing mud on others. If you cannot help others, at least stop being a jerk. Do something good in life!

Lover boy:

Looked to me that you are an over-rated blog writer. Is this your only profession? I don't think you understand acting or stage performance or any creative skill. Hope you develop some sense soon. Unfortunately the world has space for some stupid people like you. I just wish some wisdom and sense for you. Hope it will help you see things in right perspective.

I agree with you guys. Madhuri ruled an era and I grew watching big hits of Madhuri - Tezaab, dil, saajan, Khalnayak can be added to the above list. People hated watching Karishma. Try seeing her earlier movies. After doing 'sexy sexy sexy' she was in business and she did a decent job in the later movies. In the movie Dil to pagal hai, I would say that she danced better. Madhuri was a sensation during the time, can be compared to Madhubala, Asha Parekh, Vyjayanthi, etc. Karishma never reached those levels. Except in the movie Dil to Pagal Hai, people never compared Karishma to Madhuri. Madhuri was compared to other big stars like Sridevi, Kajol and Aishwarya.

Excuse me but Madhuri was extremely vulgar and cheap in Khalnayak and Tezaab.
Also, were Kajol and Ash 'big stars'? You must be joking, right? Karishma was Madhuri's biggest threat. After Karishma totally overshadowed Madhuri in Dil To Pagal hai, Madhuri was too insecure to work with Karishma again and that is why Madhuri turned Hum Saath-Saath hain down and her role was done by Tabu. Karishma was a sensation, even Madhuri herself lavishly praised Karishma for her mindblowing performance in Raja Hindustani (the biggest hit of 1996)

Do you know what is meaning of performance? I think you need to understand acting first and then you can make comments.
Actually this comparison puts you and karishma on such lowest value which can never be update.

Great movie, too sophisticated for the brainless Indian audience
by Rakhi Gupta on Dec 03, 2007 11:11 PM  | Hide replies

Poor Madhuri said the Indian audience has change. She did not realize the Indian audience has not changed. They prefer crap movies like Partner, Hey Baby and OSO over a movie like Aaja Nachle. It was such a good movie and enjoyable to the core. Her acting was beyond amazing like always and will always be the queen! None of he actresses today can come close to her grace, dialogue deliver, natural and smooth acting, dancing skills and beauty. Shame on the audience for continuing to appreciated crap movies.

This Audiende only gave Madhuri a star status and thatswhy this has such hype in media. But Indian Audience proved once again they are not going by Name or Hype. They always like entertaining scripts weather Shahrukh or Shahid kapoor or Govinda.

this was inevitable
by manish kapoor on Dec 03, 2007 10:40 PM  | Hide replies

We are a country of very sophisticated and refined tastes. We have time and patience only for modern-day classics like Dhamaal, Partner, Heyy Baby and OSO. Why should we watch a simple and heart-warming tale set in a small town that celebrates vague things like the importance of art & culture and triumph of the human spirit. What is the use of a film that we can watch and enjoy with our entire families? Put some double-meaning dialogues, gratuitous nudity and some senseless toilet humour and see how quickly we line up outside the multiplexes! Why should we applaud an actress who is the epitome of timeless beauty, graceful charm and extraordinary talent when it is easier to ridicule her for being of a certain age and the proud mother of two? Why should we appreciate a soundtrack that lacks any raunchy item numbers and loud remixes and instead is made up of songs that compliment the film's storyline and earthy appeal" why indeed!!

you think Chak De/ Jab we met had any of these ... raunghy item numbers, you could not watch it with your entire family, contained double meaning dialogues, etc ... any of the vague things you have mentioned above ...

Madhuri, with all due respect was not really someone you would call epitome of timeless beauty ( you know of her songs which were NOT raunchy numbers like 1,2,3 and Dhak Dhak and Choli ke peeche ??) ...

I think you should have more faith in your culture and realize that people are not unintelligent ... you will then realize the opposite

sridevi and madhuri
by Om Shanti Om on Dec 03, 2007 10:21 PM  | Hide replies

when these actresses were there films used to be made for actresses alone like nagina, prem pratigya and even used to run on the merits of actresses alone like mr.india due to sridevi or beta due to madhuri. since the late 90s, actresses like kajol, rani, priyanka, aishwarya etc have not had single hit where they carried the movie alone.

sridevi and madhuri were last actresses of hindi cinema who could stand on their own feet against the heroes.
