what richard gere has done publicly is nothing wrong compared to what many indians do in their country openly.... if they see a platform wall or a bush or tree gone.... even a dog will check twice before doing what it does.
All this attention & media coverage to this incident is totally ridiculous. what is the problem with us dont we have anything better to do. Richard Gere is good man trying to make extra efforts for others well being & what are we doing...
Isnt it funny...when Shilpa Shetty raised a alarm and made a hue n cry about racial discrimination...being called as a "indian"...and the whole nation supported her...why do indians hate when we call an indian an indian? (...well, thats another issue)...but does a true sati-savitri "indian" do this on a stage like this???...and that richard gere, is popular for being "unpopular", good for nothing guy, should be beaten up next time he visits india!

there were two people on that platform, and shilpa looked to be enjoying herself. what if it had been denzel washington kissing her. you gonna stone them to death? indian people need to get acquainted w/ the 21st century. racism is a terrible legacy to pass to younger generations.

The reason India is so polluted obviously isn't because Mr.Gere goes around giving women pecks on their cheeks.
Richard can b blamed 2 a li'l xtent, 4 its a general rule, Richard should've kept himself informed abt indian limitations[b4 stepping into any forign(our) country, & dat too on an AIDS topic in front of truck-drivers majority]... but anywayz, his own cultures didn't stopped him 2 do so publicly... coz dis is very normal in d country he belongs to ! & on d other hand, our few ppl r only contented in hyping !! so these r a few reasons, y dis propaganda is failing 2 stop !! shilpa, may b, is quite due 2 d proverb saying "athiti devo bhavah..." !!

Guys have such a one track mind. May be their minds will evolve to higher level in time - I wouldn't hold my breath on that though. Anyway, if Shilpa didn't mind being kissed by Gere, then there's no issue. What she does is nobodyelses business but her own. She shouldn't need to answer to anyone. People need to stop placing such importance on trivial things.

U guys are so double standart. Good gosh, if u guys can dream about Hollywood and its people, why can somebody from there just be friendly and open with 1 of us. How many of u want to actually go and live in the States? And just a simple friendly kiss is shocking u!!!!!!!!!!!!!Our country is full of cheap, double standart and dirty minded people.
