The movie is completely awesome. I think they have done very very well to keep the complete story of the book and cover as much detail as possible. Very few movies that as based on books are made this well. I give the movie three and a half stars easily.
The movie isn't that bad as the rediff reviewer seems to make it... I watched the movie and have also read the book.. And found the movie good enough to be rated 3 and half... If not more... This reviewer really suckss....
I have NOT seen the movie, but have read the book Two years ago when a majority of the current experts who are spewing their opinions probably had not even heard of it.Similarly there are MANY other writings on similar lines,involving the same mysterious and unravelled truths/stories do exist.The Templar Knights are a part of FACTUAL history, not MYTHOLOGY like so many Greek,Indian,Swedish ballads are.And the critics write up stinks of ignorance, to say the least.But I do intend to see this movie and hopefully some of the places which DO exist and which I have had the good fortune to visit,and hopefully the stories around them,have been correctly depicted.It cant be a worse movie than say so many of the Box office Hindi films for sure.
Mr Ramanand sengupta, you are the worst reviewer i haven't seen until now. Raja sen is much better than you. Da Vinci Code is a well-made movie, but there are few drawbacks. Even though it is not as captivating as the book, atleast 3-31/2 stars should be given for the film as rating. Ho-hum is the word not to be used for this movie.
there are two kinds of people ,one who adore the book and others who hate it.there are few people i between.Im bnot sure whether the writer is aganist the movie or the book,i havent seen the movie but he article doesnt genuinely try to appraise the movie nothing abt the movie,its cast the making or its technicals like for instance paul bettany plays the role of an albino which is a skin disorder and there are vry few albibnos around who can play the part ti good effect,thats why movie makers have for long been resorting to makke up ,yeah.. and abt sophie marceau she is french but obviously speeks english amidst english people so u can maybe forgive the mixed accent ...it reads just like another smart ass review like as for tom hanks whoplays langdon i cant cooment bcos i havent see it yet
I guess one should be able to come up with a better review than this!! At least, one that is professional in nature!! The setting of the film was meant to picturize the age in which the film's history was actually made!! The bassilca's and the old churches are very much part of the story!!
Oh yes !!! How else are we supposed to portray the relationship between Richard Langdon and the Lady Cryptologist? Through mere dance and song - Aap Ka Suroor?

Quite a good movie to watch.I heard people saying ,its not the very good like the book. Obviously the reviewer watches only hindi movies coz he/she doesnt understand shit about the movie. It wasnt so bad. So it deserves 3/5 as opposed ...But plz understand , the director cannot put whole ...
