Rakesh Mehra has done a fine job of carving out a different script and giving a beautiful direction. The message that the movie intended to convey has been delivered. The movie starts off pretty well and captures the audience's attention for the major part, but i think the script goes totally haywire after the Defence Minster part. I, for one, din't like the ending. It was, sort of, illogical and irrational. I don't mind kiiling off the protaganists funda; it's just that a little more effort in the script in this part, and the movie would've been TRULY great.

Somidh Das
Movie for the today's freedom fighters
by Somidh Das on Feb 04, 2006 11:09 AM

This is an excellent movie. After Dil Chahata Hai, this is a movie for the youths and true friends. New thing in this movie is, the difference shown in yesterday's freedom fighters and today's freedom fighters and like how today the things are getting ignored and nobody cares to change the things in the country. This is placed in the movie wonderfully. This movie should be watched by the all youths.

simply excellent
by Shekhar Patil on Feb 03, 2006 11:43 PM

I saw RDB twice and i enjoyed it each time. This is one of the original movie which i could see after a long time with well direction , acting , music, superb in all the ways. Every one has did their act well and each character has a separate identity.
About the end, i like it because it makes us think and thats the success of movie. Somewhere RDB is able to ignate the youth power. If it was a happy end, we may have forgot the movie.
I read review of the movie in most of news paper and it was criticising but i would ask every one what could be the other end.
Over all , RDB is simply excellent movie and every one should start thinking that if we think, we can.
Koi bhi desh perfect nahi hota, use banana padta hai.
(No contry is perfect. We have to make it)

AR Rahman does it again! Same old orchestration, endless loops. And to top it all, the guy actually has sung a song, or rather a part of it. In my opinion, after Roja, there has not been any original composition from this guy.

Heres a trick question: Would you kill the MD of a car company or the spare part dealer if one of your dear friends dies in a car accident due to defective or sub-standard part used in the car?

Answer me later, but let me get on with the main contents of this post

I must confess that I was fairly impressed with Rakesh (now Rakeysh- thanks to numerology) Mehra (now Omprakash Mehra- thanks to his remembering his father, made fashionable by the likes of Sanjay Bhansali remembering his mother, Leela) film 'Aks'. It was different, to say the least, apart from an interesting music, a not so original but nevertheless, different story line and a slick direction and editing. Most of all, it had the great Manoj Bajpayee- my favorite actor in his life-time negative role after Ram Gopal Vermas film Satya. It was a total paisa vasool and I saw it two or three times on late night TV, just as I saw Shool and his Satya, I love this Manoj Bajpayee guy. He is a good actor! Damn good!!

Anyways. When the duo decided to accede to my request to see this movie, I thought Id have the time of my life. After seeing this movie, all I can say in one word is-

D I S A P P O I N T M E N T !!

GenX that was & GenX thts goin to be
by Sohail on Feb 03, 2006 05:43 PM

I wont be ashamed to admit it tht I cried watchin the climax... agree tht it was a lil over dramatic but thts what is required I guess for todays GenX to be like the GenX which was in the Era of Bhagat Singh...
Very well directed & scripted movie... the Scence where all the guys go in front of India Gate & salute the Amar Jawan Jyot is exhilarating.... over all an excellent movie, tryin to do which very few directors have tried to do today atleast... awaken the youth...
I'm when the Youth Awakens the Beginning will be what the Marty's thought of when Sacrificing their lives at the young & tender age...
Hats of to Everyone who was a part of making this contemperory movie... This should be a nominee for Oscars as best Foreign Film....
