My heart goes out to Vinit, Himani, Hemachandra,Nihira etc
by Cibi Thomas on Feb 06, 2006 01:28 PM  | Hide replies

All the above contestants had to go on account of regional voting...not that debojit has more moreitt over them. Its sad that Sa Re Ga Ma Pa had to depend on public voting to judge the best singer. We, the fans have been disappointed, for this was one contest that had class...unlike some other contests.

Hi guys,

I am an Assamese from Assam and have been watching this programme for quite a while. But last fews episodes were very disturbing. I do not know it was reality or gimmick.

But yes I agree with Mr Mahesh.

While many newspapers were accusing ULFA for threatening the producers of Sa RE Ga Ma Pa, ULFA was actually troubling Assam. They were planting bombs any and everywhere and many poeple in assam were injured and one or two killed.

Yes people of North east want Debojit to win so they are spening MONEY to call/sms and vote for him. And I believe no one can be blamed if they want to encourage someone from their region.

If anyone has to be blamed it is none other then the producers , they shouldnt have made voting a criterion to win. Since votes can make one winner people will definitely vote for his/her local guy then any stranger.

So please stop blaming ULFA or people of North East for the votes Debojit is getting .

Thanks
Gitika

My heart goes to Debojit
by Saswati on Feb 06, 2006 12:44 AM

Let me first give a BIG Salute to Mr. Mahesh Peri for his outstanding article.
I think 3 contestants are a mere victim of the mentor's cheap publicity. These mentors made bakhras to these 3 poor contestants.
I was surprised to hear that Adeshji thinks Deboo's being supported by Ulfas. Is there any proof? If no, he should be slapped from Indian people for making such ignorant comment. Hey Mr. there're Indians also who can spread some cheap rumours about you too, how you'll feel. Just 'cause it doesn't cost you money you're not suppose to comment on anything which is baseless and not acceptable at all especially holding such an honorable position. SHAME ON YOU!!!!!!!
Hey Indians wake up and throw these type of people in the garbage to give a real lesson to our next generations for not making that same mistake over and over again.
I proud to be an Indian and always admire people like Mr. Peri and others who fight for justice talk real and see a beautiful India. My last request to my Indians PLEASE STAND against any corruption, injustice. I LOVE MY INDIA.
JAI HIND.

Voting System is Defective
by J.N.Mahanty on Feb 04, 2006 11:52 PM

Certainly the Voting System is defective and cannot be considered as Impartial.

in my opinion the following two systems may be considered:

AA. Contestants shall not reveal their Name, place of Origin and State of Origin. Even the Judges shd not be informed about these details. Then you go fo Voting in the usual way.

Alternatively:

BB. There is No Voting System at all. Let the panel of Judges ( with proven Integrity) make their Evaluation.

I strongly put my views against Mr. Mahesh's verdict on Saregamapa
by Ramadevi on Feb 04, 2006 07:14 PM

I think Mr. Mahesh only watched that episode where the Mentors and constestants fought against each other, but he really missed all the other episodes where the original music exists.

For everyone's information, I would like to bring the notice of Mr. Mahesh on his view about Mr. Vinit's ability of singing. What is his problem...Vinit is only 17years old or he is been called Topiwala Tendulkar or he sings excellent than other contestants.

For instance if i agree with his statement that Mr. Himesh is hyping Vinit, but what about the other judges who participate in the show only once and once the show finishes, all the judges always end up saying Vinit is perfect in singing, expression, performance and dedication. After all he is from Himeshji's Gharana then why the other Gharanas Mentors give Vinit always 10 out of 10.

Nobody is against Mr. Debojit, they are just showed their expressions and feelings towards the end of the best singer in female Himani's exit because she deserves to be part of top 3. This is not my view, this is the view of Mr. Ismail Darbar.

Ofcourse everybody wants the best person should win. It doesn't mean that a person wins only on his home ground.

Sa Re Ga Ma

Music has no boundaries;instead of getting biased that such person is representing North-East one must also keep in mind the quality of singing. What I have noticed from couple of programmes Hemu and Vinit were better than Debu but because of East Zone voting Debu got entry in the Final 2,while Hemu who was singing much better than Debu was shown the door. Thanks to Subhash ji latter was offered asignment for Mukta Art's Banner

what a silly article
by rudresh on Feb 04, 2006 07:48 AM

this article sucks. how can someone make such stupid comment on Vinit as his voice croaks. I think the author doesn't have any idea of music. we all are sorry for Debojit, but its really irrational to blame Himesh or vinit. when you are competing for such high recognition in music, then you have to be good and as there are four music directors, they will definitely fight for the singer from their own GHARANA. So, these stupid articles doesn't deserve much attention.

Don't even start with the Regional Bias thing
by Aarthi on Feb 04, 2006 01:39 AM

If the author had been following Sa Re Ga Ma Pa consistently, he would know that the Anchor- Shaan discloses where all contestants get the lion's share of their votes from. And not surprisingly it is almost always regionally biased.

But the truth of the matter is, Debojit is the weakest of the three singers and Ismail Darbar being one of the best composers is definitely well aware of this. And despite being aware of this, his recent walk out drama in support of Debojit, hoping it will trigger a sympathy wave and in turn more votes, was totally uncalled for and not at all becoming of his stature as a fantastic musician.

Yes, Debojit is a good singer, but he has reached his pinnacle and I don't think deserves to go any further.

Coming back to Regional Bias... Hemachandra has only gotten better with time and is a fantastic singer. However, he is time and again compared only to "S. P. Balasubramaniam". WHY?? You think he can't give Udit Narayan a run for his money?? So what does that mean? South Indians only compete with your kind.. you can't touch us northies??

Your column sucks buddy
by Sonia on Feb 04, 2006 12:34 AM

Whosoever has written this column has mocked India and Indianess. You worte everything wrong in column rating from different places are disclosed for all candidated . I am following this serial with my friends since long.
Please think twice before writing all this stupid thing. This is read by Indians in india, US and UK . So please atleast write true things . Pay attention while watching serial and you know truth don't need to be justify. It looks like you don't have basic understanding of melody that ever 10 yeard old have.

It is really good Sa re ga ma showed everything that happen on stage. They were not scared of truth so they reaveled. But shameful is that you saw it and you gave bad infomation by putting comments like " Indian and Indianess suffers and blah blah". You you feel indian ness suffers because of facing truth , it is good in favour of all India.

Discrimination
by Ujjal Baruah on Feb 03, 2006 08:59 PM

The shows like Sa Re Ga Ma should be banned as it encourages regional differences and nowhere fits good in searching for a good talent.Because a art or an artist is not biased and is not based on voting. And if they have started the contest it should follow a single set of rules applicable to all, but i am sorry to say that this is not followed as mentioned that vote for VINIT and Hemchandra is not revealed but for Debojit it does. And when one say East India it includes all the seven NE states, Bengal and parts of Orissa. We all are part of this Fool's game after all its all about money.Actually its not a matter of winning now ,because all the three contestants sing more or less the same and will make a shining career after this contest. But than we Indians are proving our cheare proving our cheap nature of thinking and biased ways of working. And yes we will continue to do that after all we are Indian Some people outside India rightly say us as INDIANS because we prove ourself now and than and we have done it once again in Sa Re Ga Ma. We are dirty at our minds.Just copying the west doesn't change our roots. God Bless us all !!
