Why indeed whynot

I didnt like black, indeed if i may be permitted to
say so; i hated it and i hated bhansali for dishing such a crap.
Bhansali is creative no doubts;if ur in need of a visual spectacle then bhansali is ur man.He uses all the colors on the palettee to paint a picture that is too garish. His pictures are like a bride decked in all her finery.
On the other hand if ur lookin for a movie to remember then he surely is not ur man.

Black is much much better but...

it is an adaptation of a foreign movie, I cannot remember which. Is not a movie required to be original to be sent to Oscars?

I fully endorse her views and feeling> just because it does not have the typical rural setup and colourful clothes and naatak. Indai is secular and truly Global ! For it was the best film made last year.. Iresspective of Oscar or no Oscars! Lets"s hope the National awards goes to them>

Why, dear Black, Why?

5 reasons why Black is nothing you say it is.

5. Was Sanjay Leela Bhansali making a movie about Indians or Indians playing Englishmen or Indians who lives liked Englishmen or Anglo Indians? If you wanted to make an English movie at least know what you are making.

4. Was the story supposedly happening in India? England? or an Indian town that was supposed to look like an English town? or an English town with Indian actors? If you want to have an English setting, make a movie about Englishmen in England.

3. What was the thing with the placing of the poster of "The Kid" outside the theater about? Were you trying to tell us the period of the story or did you think it gave the film an English feel? That' s just one of the inane things you find in the film

2. Alzheimer's and Parkinsons are related disorders. They both cause Demntia but Alzheimer sufferers don' t display symptoms of Parkinsons. Get your facts right.

1. Ripping of shots, sequences and wrapping them in corny cliched dialogue does not make a good movie. Stop making films Mr. Bhansali, you are an insult to film making.

Black - An insult to all film makers.

i still dont believe its not BLACK
by Amit on Oct 02, 2005 12:09 PM

Paheli?? How??? and not Black??because the story is inspired??? Is this what only matters?? if that is the case then does Paheli has any story at all when compared to Black... and if originality matters then any crap story which is original can be nominated for oscar, be it a B-grade movie!!!
I am a big fan of Shahrukh but his presence does not make the movie suitable for Oscars. If that is the case then Swades is a much stronger competitor.
I am surprised that some celebrities are supporting Paheli. Is that a matured decision after all????

Black- Oscars

I believe that the fact that Black is not an original story may have weighed heavily against it.But still it scores over Paheli in many respects, in histrionics of Rani and the Big B.

Pulllllllleeeeeeeez!!!

All this drama over a movie!!!!

wont get into the movie coz i personally havent seen many of teh others in the reckoning for India's oscar entry..

but then again, i wonder if this lady too has seen all the movies.. (May be she does see all the movies.. dont know!)

Just would point out one thing, couldnt help thinking that certain heart wrenching moments in the movie pointed out by the author seemed to be one of those low points in teh movie.

Reasons? here are a couple---

- Was it a movie? or was it a play? oh it was a movie.. so why was Mr Bachan acting like he was in a play?

- The setting.. again? was it a movie? or was it a play?

Particularly abt black would say one thing taht all the actors did a good job except for the so called badshaah of Indian Cinema... phew!!!

Again, would like to say that i dont have anything against the movie and whether it was right decision to not nominate Black as the Indian entry was right or wrong... But all am saying lets get beyond this kind of articles... Let ppl think on their own!!!
