Why can't we get out of this exotic colours / song and dance / non-serious films? Agreed, Paheli is a nice film, colourful, and one more khan in it (Why khan we not get out of this?), and a hidden, important message that is not revealed very lucidly. But why can we not send films like 'Hazaaron Khwahishen Aisee' which depicted a good story, well told along with performances that the khans can not even dream of?
Sanjay Leela Bhansali will surely feel let down. His BLACK was simply outstanding and deserved the OSCAR nomination. I cant digest the fact that PAHELI was chosen ahead of BLACK.
Every one of us aware how OSCAR movies would be and I strongly believe BLACK the way movie presented definitely would have won OSCAR. I dont know whether its a fix with Shahrukh but Paheli would be one of the all movies which didnt even make to top 5 as Lagaan did.
Its such a shame that Black was not nominated for the Oscars, instead Paheli made its way to the Oscar nomination. Can we even think of comparing a movie like Paheli in the same league as Lagaan or Black? What is wrong with the selection board?
Its not fair. Amol Palekaer has done very good job but film to oscar must be BLACK.It has international appeal.Amol Palekar is very good actor and director but its BLACK to be nominated.This is why we r not getting oscar. I think our selectors dont want to get oscar to India thats why they r selecting Paheli instead of BLACK.Or is it just to please Shahrukh?
