If she can write or talk anything else except the lingo she and her friends use after watching "Andaaz Apna Apna" or Jaane bhi do yaaron, it'd be enlightening. (Thats there in any article she writes)
At the same time we'd like her to review films like Saaya, Zameen, Janasheen, etc. Wonder what she'd have to say for those.
But the user comments say it to all. What she writes are not reviews as in a critical analysis, what she writes is her personal opinion. And we're not interested in that!
Please ignore the review by rediff.com, seems the reviewer is too infant to understand such a good movie. Urmila, yet prooves herself as she did in her previous movies with RGV. I wish that such movies continue to release and we the people get something new to watch. Great job URMILA !!!
Miss/Mrs Sukanya , U seem to have very little(rather no) knowledge about movies... Please resign from ur Job and plz stop reviewing movies henceforth.. Naina is a fantastic movie ... I would rate it as the second best movie (First being Black) to hit the theatres in 2005. Urmila has once again shown that she can carry a movie on her own. She has done a great Job!!!
The movie was beautifully reviewed and on the mark. As i see it, the only problem is with the readers reading the article who think the review sucks. Ppl go out, watch every damn movie released, and find all of them are good. Its because of ppl like you that the indian movie industry keeps on constantly churning movies one after the other, reaching well over 600 movies a year, in which more than 90% are flops and the rest just about manage to break even. You just give them the fuel for the fire to burn.
As the reviewer states \\\"Debutant director Shripal Morakhia tries hard to frighten by employing crude methods like charred bodies and painted faces. But gore is a poor substitute for psychological terror.\\\"
Mutated bodies, bloodshed, ghosts popping up behind you, with some generous background sound effects throw in, and your hair stands on edge. Wow, that was one great movie!!! Well, you are wrong. Its because of the lack of a psychological effect on the human mind that a movie fails to generate and employing mediocre methods to substitue it, that movies like Naina can never achieve world standards.
Your reviewers are consistently writing bad, negative reviews and your readers (including me) are always having different opinion about the films. In fact it is my favourite time pass on Friday to read your reviews (how you shred the movie to pieces) and how the readers screw your critics right, left and center.
I am not sadistic but atleast rediff should think about this, and if it is always happening like this , then why not let reader decide the movie's positive and negative points and let them rate the movies. Have some voting forum type of thing.
And the movie you refered as chinese was a thai movie. And as I understand thai and chinese are different langagues.
As far as the movie is concerned. It was a real nice one. But as far as resemblances go. They are bound to accur as the director or story writer must have seen some or all of those movies. But Still then the movie really has all the essential ingredients to make it a hit.
So all of you who need to get a good feel on a weekend and chill out in a theatre this movie will be the right one to go.
When I read this review I felt as if you wrote just the things that I wanted to tell others. Tell u what you got the review bang right, NAINA SUCKS. The movie is "CHEAP" and not in any way "HORROR" as they claim it to be. Its the best way to loose your money and time.
