I stronly feel that Black deserves the golden globe because this is one of the finest movies Bollywood has ever made and it also deserved to be nominated for the Oscar.
I dont think any of the 3 movies are going to make it to the final nominations. But Black is the better of the three films. Though I am sure people in Hollywood would compare these performances to Hollywood classics like I am Sam and Rain man. AB and RM's performances while good by bollywood standards are mediocre compared to Oscar standards. if anything it was a whole lot of overacting.
Paheli was an average Bollywood movie and I cant see why it deserved going to the Oscars anyway. I have seen much better movies from Amol Palekar that were challenging and thought provoking.
I cant think of any rationale about including Veer Zaara other than its a Yash Chopra film.
I think it is Paheli who deserve to be nominated in the best foreign film category for Golden Globe award,the performance done by Amitabh and Rani is superb and script of the film is excellent.
black doesnt deserved to be called a great film. amitabh was over the top in the film. yeh i know he was playin eccentric man. but he thought he was playin some role in harry potter. rani was marvellous and that kid was stellar act. but the film was lookin pretentious. bhansali did choose good subject but made it way too melodramatic. as for paheli i was strictly OK , OK OK it represents our indian culture. WHO CARES. all that matters is not culture its subject the film is based on. IQBAL was a fantastic film . WATER is good. Hazaron Khwaishien aisi was good too. these are the films we should have considered to represent our country. Alas Mangal pandey should have been there but the film was average. But Aamir was amazing.
of course its VeerZaara. The superhit movie of 2004. It won alot of awards and im sure that it will inshahallah win this award too. So first its Veer Zaara and then after vz it could be Paheli because its orginal not a copy.So its real indian movie. It shows completely the indian culture.
In my opinnion Black movie and the artist amitabh,rani and sanjay should get the awards for their tremandious performances in the movie and its great experiment and its the way to the new and old directors to show the brave ideas on the screen.
Black is the best of all 3 films. Black is our pride. Still Black didn't get nomination for Oscar, its strange. Black should get nomination for Golden Globe awards.
