If at all we had to wait for 4 long years to see this movie of Amir Khan than its a big dissapointment. not in terms of Amirs acting he has done a fabulous job as always, but the script is slow and very boaring. its hard to sit and watch the full movie in the cinema hall for the storyline....but then for Amir one will not mind. not worth watching again.
Making period flims is no joke. The effort put by the entire mangal panday team has to be applauded. The movie rises in certain ocassions. Amir is superb. BUt the firang actor was on parrellel to amir khan.
The rising misses the punch. It doesn't provokes you for disscussion. Though it is a visual treat, it lacks the drama the hardness in the dialogue dpeartment.
Overall go watch MP to revisit history. you will not be bored.

The movie was boring and sick. There was no need for Rani's role at all. She is there just to pull her fans into the movie. It is a FLOP movie. I think this is the beginning of an end of so called lollypop, chocolate hero 'Aamir'.
What is the need in putting such masala songs in a patriotic movie?? Not a good movie at all. Dont waste your time by watching it. Story has been completely deviated.

'Mangal Pandey'is good but could have been great. Excellent performances by Aamir (as usual) and Toby Stephens, the movie loses out on untimely songs an poor editing. Except for the title track, take out all other songs, the girls, and cut it down to 2 neat hours of focussed content, and we could have an international masterpiece! Hats off to Aamir, but Ketan misses out on a golden opportunity!
The basic burden that Aamiir Khan and Ketan Mehta share, along with Farhan Akhtar and Rituparno Ghosh, is that they have been born as Indians, and they have to cater to the Indian tastes!

those who love amirkhan can go &watch the movie ,otherwise movie is totally nonsense with unnecessary sexual content which could have been avoided .the film deals more with brothel then dealing with mangal pandey its a waste of time &better to avoid watching with family .great expectation poor film.
