Long awaited film. Many expectations from Aamir - particularly after Oscar Nomination to Lagaan. In my opinion, the film is no less as compared to Lagaan. But unlike Lagaan, Mangal Pandey's story is well known and is no secret to any Indian.
Since the turn of the millennium, the world is involved in the Bollywood's 'Hinglish' epics like Oscar nominated Lagaan and Devdas - Mangal Pandey - The Rising not only the next one in that series, it stands as a clear contender for the best Bollywood film.
But whether it will create interest in the minds of masses who make a film hit at box-office is slightly doubtful!

Amir has once again proved his mettle as a real actor in Bollywood. His long awaited film 'The Rising' tells nothing new since it is an historical epic. But, the way the character of Mangal Pandey played by Amir is shown is worth to appreciate.
I recommend all to watch this movie from both historical and enetertaining perspectives. Beyond doubt, the movie will come up to the expectation of international standard.
I saw mangal pandey first day first show!!! All i can say is AAMIR is a fabulous actor, and RISING is just another shining nre JEWEL in his crown. The film? will it be a hit? OF course it will be!! It couldnt have timed any better!!
I strongly feel that this time Mangal pandey wont be a hit as Lagaan was, because the music of Mangal pandey doesnt sound that good like Lagaan. Hope it become a hit..
agree it's been hyped but it does deserve all the attention. Aamir khan fans are all eager to watch him, give a terrific performance after a gap of 4 yrs . it will storm the box office!
