lol...all these comments are ridiculous...I just glanced through a few and can't seem to decide which one to place in the top 10.Bijoy I think you should seriously consider writing for a portal with a better class of readers...as for the writing flaws that some people here have pointed out...you don't just get the gist do you? and besides an author is entitled to his/her own opinions and can't be termed an amateur if they don't coincide with yours.

yuva rahman
by Anuraag on Jul 14, 2004 06:47 PM

he is doing it again....starting with boys and the breeze continues.

a decade ago, he did it with roza, the music was unlike anything that the then film music scenario had. then gradually all MDs tryed to copy the rahman effect, some even succeeded a bit (shankar mahadevan et al). some plainly and unimagitivley tried the formula and created a mess. now rahman is again trying things a bit differently. the music is fresh and yes it does GROW on u with time. give it time and u know what i mean.

Yuva

Yuva is yet another innovative piece by Rahman . It is not easy to satisfy two classes of audience - north and south at a time and that is where rahman stands out. All songs speak for themself including the background score in the movie . Infact the movie is thought provoking ,it makes one think a to who is strong a)The voter or b)The candidate who seeks vote . A movie for every youth - "YUVA " mani and team at their best

Is this what we expected?
by Soham Gupta, Kolkata on Jun 07, 2004 12:03 PM

Yuva was one of 2004's most eagerly awaited films but did the audience expected such a performance from the director and the music director? The movie was as clumsy as it could get and the film can easily be regarded as 2004's noisiest bollywood movie. Both Mani and Rahman were equally bad-the worst performance in their career.Ajay Devgan tried his best but failed to perform his usual performance. How can he perform? He was acting a collage student with his classmates atleast 20 years younger than him.God knows if the 'brillian student' failed 15 years or not. But there is one reason why people must watch the movie-They must watch the pro-CPM movie just to take a look at the angry young Abhishek Bachhan. After this movie, he can surely be regarded as Big B.After all this is his movie number 17, and Zanjeer was also the 17th movie of Amitabh, which welcomed Bachhan to stardom.Rani Mukherjee and Esha Deol also gave brilliant performance but not the others.

A.R.Rahman rocks !
by aK, Dubai on Jun 03, 2004 01:32 AM

Over the years A.R.Rahman has been synonymous with fresh tunes and super-hits, time after time. Just as was the case with Yuva. The music is fresh and full kudos to Rahman for experimenting with new types of club music and trancey themes in such a big project, and being very successful in doin so. I dare say that no other music director in India can make songs like Dhaga-Laga-Bukka, Khuda Hafiz, Fana and Dola Dola.
I hope Rahman continues to achieve that perfect balance between fresh themes, great tunes and the SUPERHIT banner on all his future projects. I also urge him to consider international projects and do us all a whole lotta proud.:-)

Mani is Best
by Sujith on Jun 02, 2004 04:02 PM

Taking all time Indian directors....Only few will come one first in Mind...Thats is StayaJith ray, Maniratnan,Padmarajan(malayalam director) and a few in fingers.
Now Mani is the living director (Lengend)
Hindi actors and directors have to march couple of years more to work or compare with his talent.
Kamal Hassan, Dilip Kumar,MohhanLal, Amrish puri.... I love these people once to combine under Mani Sir and Music by Both rehman and Ilayaraja.
It will b dream cum true project.
