All the tracks in yuva r refreshing!I hav heard its tamil version."Huda hafiz" is a a real romantic melody with the female voice blending cooly.Adnan Sami's track is cool. The title track is of real Rahman Touch. In tamil, the songs r really doing well in tamil nadu.in case, if it fails there, there's nothing 2 blame Rahman.
Fellow music lovers will agree that Rahman's Music has an unique characteristic. U have to listen to it thrice at least to understand what the music is about. Yuva is Rahman's next-Gen music. So better hear it again before u comment. I strongly belive Rahman's best is yet to come and yuva is just a prelude. -luv Jeff
Totally false and stupid review by a stupid reviewer. Rediff should not allow such a goof person to write on Sir Rahman's music. He only tried to criticise his music and even criticised the best songs those are already hit. I listend Yuva and I just loved the music. Ya the only truth is that he changed from his style and offered a peppy music but that was the requirement of movie.
I have heard YUVA. It aint bad for sure. I guess its just a case of the writer's incompetence in understanding the nuances of music which is disguised as 'The reverred CRITIC's OPINION'.

The music is particularly bad and the most notorius is the Khuda Hafiz song made worse by the inclusion of ugly Kareena. The trailors shows her shot from air and she looks like a piece of ship's wreckage. And then she emerges from Ocean, trying to look like Bipasha but ending up looking like a bad looking wet SONU NIGAM and being followed by a tired bald ugly with eyes popping out of his sockets Vivek Oberoi!
Yuva, a film with multistars but with the faces of characters in a single soul. The single soul has a beautiful tune by Rahman, He is the ultimate with the Neem Neem, and Anjana.
Mani's youth dreams are came in picture. Worth to watch eagerly.
The music/lyrics of Yuva have been adapted from teh original Tamil soundtrack of Ayitha Ezhuthu. So at first you will feel that the hindi version is contrived. But listen for a couple of times and the music will grow on you.
On the matter of lyrics Mehboob is totally out of his league here. One just has to listen to Dil Se.. (Uyire..) & Saathiya (Alai Payuthey) to understand the magnificence of Gulzaar Saab in the same situation.
Case in study. the Adnan Sami song Badal..
In tamil the lyrics go like this..
My heart is full of love.. My body, full of lust.. So if i tell u the truth.. Would you still love me ?...
Try and match that in Hindi !!
If u feel that in YUVA Rahman gives more space to the singers, go listen to 1947-Earth which is as sparsely orchestrated as ever by ARR.
YUVA / AAYITHA EZHUTHU is the 7'th offering from the Mani Rathnam - ARR combine and this time too the offering is a quite refreshingly distinct from all that ARR has ever done before.
