HARSHIT
does not meet the audience's expectation
by HARSHIT on Jul 01, 2004 02:56 PM

yesterday i saw thw movie, its an ok kind of movie, nothin great. hritik is good, prity is not so pretty, amithbh has a small role to play, even he is not so impressive. the movie has a good pace, but the emotional love scenes acts as jitters & makes u yarn in between the movie. the music is cool, title track is exellent, "kandhon se milte hai kandhe" is well written & beautifully arranged. the climax is very good.

Yeh Dil Mange More
by Sandeep Bhat on Jun 29, 2004 03:33 PM

There seems to be a distinct flavour or liking amongst Indians for anything "Foreign" and even as regards films. But wonder if any of these foreign films have a story line or punch message?? And who are we to judge whether the war movies are realistic or not. Pose this question to the soldiers who have fought wars. Has any one seen what conditions and terrain our army work under? I SALUTE these MEN WHO DEFEND OUR COUNTRY AND ENCOUNTER EXTREME HARDSHIP.

I urge all Indian parents to take their kids to watch this brilliant movie. Not only does it raise the feeling of patriotism but teaches the young ones to fix their "TARGET" on what they want to achieve in life and ...work hard in attaining these goals.

Good work Farhan you have given us two lovely films. Yeh Dil Mange More...

lakshya-history made
by Varun Shankar on Jun 29, 2004 01:45 PM

Being stuck in the queues and getting a ticket for a movie in india after being housefull for more than one week is no new phenomenon in india. and more often than not we get to see stereo type movies in which we can direct the next scene much befor e the director.

Lakshya is an altogether deifferent movie to the ones one would have watched. one movie after Lagaan which asks me to see it again and again and i will.

great performances. much has been talked of abt it..but lakshya is the only comparison to have come to lagaan s class.

feel sorry abt comparisons to hollywood movies. bollywood is growing up while hollywood is old enough by itself.
if budgets as big as titanic`s,( india`s financial budget is as big). give that to farhan and he ll make a better movie than titanic.

here we see a great movie . please stand up and applaud. i do.

Watch Hrithik the 'DYNAMITE' in Lakshya
by Raja Dutt on Jun 29, 2004 07:45 AM

Mr.Amitabh Bacchan has said "Hrithik will go on to become a Legendary Actor" after watching
Hrihik's performance in Lakshya. Those words were enough for me to get a ticket of the film and after I have seen the film I realise how true he was. Hrithik truly has the potential to become the best ever actor of India after Mr.Bacchan. Hrithik's performance alone was worth much more than 160 bucks, the price of my ticket in a multiplex. Truly I have not seen any actor of India, play so much different roles in each and every film. For instance he played Rohit's character in KMG and carried the mentally challenged part and the transformed part quiet superbly. In Lakshya, he plays two phases of Karan's life, first where he has no aim in life and the second the brave hearted soldier of Indian Army, and carries out both
of them with utmost conviction. I have never seen any actor losing 15 pounds of weight in one film and gaining 15 pounds in another; never seen any actor really cutting off his hairs to act in any film rather I have seen actors playing army officers with normal hairstyles(SRK in Main Hoon Naa is an example). This makes Hrithik differet from others.

Lakshya - Truly Perfect !
by Shruti on Jun 29, 2004 07:42 AM  | Hide replies

The Rediff reviewer has said that the second half of Lakshya is a bit slow, but believe me the second half was just perfect. Farhan Akhtar has his own style of story telling, where you need to follow the dialogues to understand the film. farhan is a very classy director. Lakshya is a fantastic movie with a superb script. It is shot at superb locations as high as 18000feet. Lakshya boast of terrific performances by HRITHIK and PREITY along with AB. People are coming out of the theatres withh smiles on their faces, which means that the film is appreciated by the
audience. Lakshya is truly a perfect film according to me and dear readers please say whether you agree with me or not after watching Lakshya. HRITHIK has once again created magic with his true magical performance in Lakshya. Don't miss Lakshya, you would miss some of the precious moments of your life.

Farhan and Hrithik's chemistry works in Lakshya
by Annu on Jun 29, 2004 07:41 AM

The credit for Lakshya should go to Hrithik and Farhan equally. It'd be terribly unfair if Hrithik takes away all the credits for Lakshya, because Farhan is afterall the Director of the film, the Captain of the ship. Farhan Akhtar proves that Dil Chahta Hai was not a fluke. He returns with a much better effort to prove his talents. He after Rakesh Roshan has proved that the Indian directors are also capable of producing movies of Hollywood Standard. Hrithik has given a superb performance in Lakshya after his magical effort in Koi Mil Gaya and deserves
awards next year. ABs acting is as usual superb. Side actors like Boman Irani, Sushant Singh and
Sharad Kapor has excelled in Lakshya. This movie should make all the Hindi Film Makers proud and this would be a landmark in Indian Cinema.
