The list given by you was much impressive, But you really forget to include the BOLLYWOOD QUEEN, DHAK-DHAK GAL MADHURI DIXIT. She deserves the real reel Role in Front of Camera. She is no less then EXCEELNT in any movie or any stage role. Again the Legendry Smita Patil & Shabana Azmi must be include in it. Guru Dutt & Sehgal Sahwab were missing too. Hope you divide this Article with differnt categories & express it. So that Actors woh really ruled the Real World From Oldies to New get proper place in it.
Sukanya, Your article is highly incomplete if you exclude Kamal Hassan from the list. Not even Dilip Kumar has done versatile roles like Kamal did. Appu Raja, Chachi 420, Sadma, Ek Duje ke liye are a few examples. Sad that you didn't include his name. You probably think "actors" means the ones that act only in hindi films. Then you should've changed the title of your write-up.
It looks like, you are only faimiliar with only one stream of Hindi cinema, which is mainstream, and also you have concentrated only on big heroes/heroines (or popular ones).
There are plenty of other talented infamous actors/actresses, that make up non-stream cinema, not only in Hindi, in every other language, assuming good actors do not need to be 'good looking'.
the films u have mentioned about ajay devgan proves that he is one of the best actor who doesnt mind experminting with different kind of roles. for eg the negative role in khakee the role of bhagat singh in the legend shows that he is superb actor .
Your Hindi-focussed article forgets to mention probably India's one-and-only world class actor - the great Kamal Hassan. Can any of your names match him? Yeah, maybe they draw more crowds, but can they ever dare to dream like Hassan?
That your article misses it is a great insult to the intelligence of the discerning Indian movie-goer. Histrionics, technical skills, creativity, off-the-beat acting ... - how can anyone match him? Is the writer aware that TIME chose NAYAKAN (Kamal - Mani Ratnam) as one of the ten best Asian movies of the 20th century?
By the way, what of Rahul Bose?
