I agree with this column...especially the part on urmila. Being in canada, i watch a lot of movies and also get a very unbiased perspective of the acting skills of different actors and actresses ( Not affected by the press i mean) and i have to agree that urmila shines. I have watched a few of her movies in recent times--Bhoot, Tehzeeb, Ek Hasina Thi and ultimately--the classy Pinjar. Kudos to urmila for portraying each of these roles with conviction. She can be sexy, emotional and intense, all at the same time. I never thought she had such capabilities as an actress. Why, i think she is one of the best actresses of recent times. Urmila just rocks, man. She is just so fab. People, if u wanna know what acting is, Watch Urmila in Pinjar.
If there is one actor who fits any character to the bill, its Kamal Hassan. Be it in Sagar or in Ek Tuje Ke Liya, he is absolutely fantastic. His character standouts rather impressively even if the story is not that great. He is an actor par excellence. His name certainly deserves to be included.
as usual only mainstream (read, hindi) actors are considered. or may be south indian actors like sivaji ganesan, rajkumar, nageswara rao, kamal, mohanlal, mamooty and several others possibly were not "different". if the article were prefixed with "bollywood" then things would have looked more just. anyway can't blame sukanya verma, just like most north indians, she doesnt remember that things like south india, south indians, south indian languages are very much around.
interesting parallel to be observed with modus operandi of peaceniks, they say we share the same culture, same language, bla bla. with who? pakistanis! of course wen they mean "we", they also don't bother to remember the so called "down" south.
am not bothered if such an insignificant thing as this article doesnt menton south india, just am appaled at the ignorance. may be i shouldn't. and i can safely conclude that this wont be published in the message board.
If we are really talking about the real stuffed actors certainly one is missing Manoj's..he is one of the fine actors industry have today and it would be really great if he should have been included there..but all in all the list sensibly put forth best of the fine actors in the industry.....and I am happy to figure out all the names are very sensibly chosen and pasted here in the Actors who are "different"
